These activities include: those that have not been approved or recognized by competent authorities (including activities directly related to teaching and learning); those that produce direct outputs but are not included in the specific plans, assignments, directives, guidance, approvals, or recognitions of competent state agencies at the district level or higher; activities that the public service unit is assigned to complete during the school year but have not been completed and must be extended into the summer (except in cases of force majeure); and activities of the public service unit carried out by organizations or individuals in voluntary and self-responsible agreements.

In addition, there are activities that are not directly related to teaching and learning tasks; activities that teachers and lecturers must undertake to overcome limitations, shortcomings, deficiencies, or failure to meet the requirements of their assigned tasks; and activities that fall outside the scope of their professional activities.

According to Resolution 185 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, teachers are civil servants whose additional income is determined by a coefficient based on their current salary grade, rank, and position.

Salary coefficient + Position allowance coefficient (if any) x 2,340,000 VND (base salary) x 1.5 (additional income coefficient) = Additional income/month.

According to this formula, a high school teacher of grade III, level 1 (coefficient 2.34) who is evaluated as having excellently completed their duties will receive an additional income of 8.2 million VND/month.

A primary, middle, or high school teacher of grade II who performs their duties exceptionally well can earn an additional income of over 22 million VND per month.
