On the afternoon of June 3, at the regular Government press conference, the press asked the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade about solutions to ensure electricity for daily life and production in the near future?
In addition, leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade also received a request to state how to deal with wind and solar power projects that are not in the upcoming planning?
"Does the Ministry of Industry and Trade guide the project to unify the price, have enough legal grounds for temporary mobilization and what are the responsibilities?", the reporter asked the leader of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Responding to the above question, Mr. Do Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade admitted that right now, some places are lacking electricity, both for production and for daily life.
"We would like to share with the difficulties of businesses and the suffering of people due to the inconvenience of power outages," said Mr. Do Thang Hai.
Mr. Do Thang Hai said that the cause of power outages in some places, including Hanoi, was due to prolonged heat, leading to an increase in demand for domestic electricity. Meanwhile, water flow to hydropower plants in the North decreased, affecting electricity production.
The solution for the above situation, according to Mr. Do Thang Hai, from the beginning of 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed relevant units to ensure the operation of the power system; urgently put renewable power plants into supply; enhanced power saving.
“The scale of the country's total electricity capacity is 81.504 MW, while the highest demand is 44.000 MW. Therefore, if the power units operate without problems, we will overcome the problem of power shortage and ensure electricity for people's lives, as well as production," shared Mr. Do Thang Hai.
Renewable projects must comply with the law
For wind power and solar power projects that are not in the planning, Mr. Do Thang Hai said that recently, the Prime Minister approved the power plan VIII, which only states the total capacity of wind and solar power will be to develop by 2030. Power projects are not specified in the master plan.
Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is developing a master plan according to the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister. In which, the scale of electricity capacity and progress of projects will be specified in each locality.
For projects that are not in the planning, Mr. Do Thang Hai informed, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has written guidelines to solve this problem. Specifically, the Ministry of Industry and Trade urged the Electricity Group (EVN) and the investor to urgently negotiate and agree on electricity prices.
“It is necessary to remove difficulties for projects. However, in addition to the electricity price mechanism, the projects must comply with the law. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed EVN and the provinces to guide investors to complete the dossier according to regulations," said Mr. Do Thang Hai.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade hopes that projects that are not in the planning will soon overcome difficulties, obstacles and even violations to bring electricity into the network, ensure electricity for production, as well as human life. people.
