On December 23, French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou officially announced the composition of his new cabinet, more than two weeks after being appointed by President Emmanuel Macron.
According to Euronews, the new cabinet comprises 34 ministers, representing the right, centrist, and left wings. Among them, the Minister of the Armed Forces, Sebastien Lecornu, the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noel Barrot, all retained their positions. In addition, the new cabinet includes two former prime ministers and two former ministers who have been rotated to different sectors. The first meeting of the Council of Ministers of French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou's government is scheduled for January 3, 2025.

However, it remains unclear whether the new government will be able to last long, as left-wing parties have expressed disappointment following negotiations with newly appointed Prime Minister Bayrou.
According to The Guardian , France is currently facing a deep political crisis since President Emmanuel Macron called for early parliamentary elections in June, resulting in a "hung parliament" as no party won a majority of seats.
Speaking about the new cabinet on platform X, French Prime Minister Bayrou expressed pride, describing it as "a team with extensive experience in reconciliation and restoring trust with all French people."
Furthermore, France is also facing a serious economic burden amidst rising national debt and a large budget deficit. Therefore, one of the French government's priorities is to address public debt issues, cut spending, and expedite the passage of the 2025 budget bill.
