Previously only selling coffee on-site, Ms. Do Thi Oanh, residing in Group 7, Thanh Binh Ward (Dien Bien Phu City), chose to open a coffee stall following the "take away" trend due to its low operating costs and wider customer reach. Ms. Oanh initiated the province's first takeaway coffee business model and has become a familiar address for many customers. After more than a year of operation, this model has proven its appeal to many customers in the transportation and mobile industries. The main products include: red salted coffee, brown coffee, black coffee, iced coffee with condensed milk, and salted cocoa, with prices ranging from 20,000 to 25,000 VND per cup. On average, Ms. Oanh sells about 100 cups of coffee daily, primarily serving truck drivers, bus drivers, and car drivers traveling on routes to Muong Cha District, Muong Nha District, and Muong Lay Town.

Over the past period, Ms. Oanh has also actively provided vocational training, both online and in person, to 7 students, including some from China.
Ms. Do Thi Oanh said: "After learning the trade, some of my trainees sell over 70 cups a day, like one trainee in Muong Lay town. Especially during the Swallowtail Boat Racing Festival in the town last year, after deducting expenses, some trainees earned about 2 million VND per day."
Currently, Ms. Oanh has also developed a bottled coffee service, shipping products to neighboring districts to expand her market. Although her stall is simple and the drinks are inexpensive, she always prioritizes food safety and hygiene, including the origin of the ingredients. At her stall, Ms. Oanh has installed dust-proof glass, cleans the brewing equipment regularly, and, most importantly, selects high-quality ingredients with traceable origins so that customers can enjoy their drinks with peace of mind.

As for Mr. Lo Van Khai (from Keo Lom commune, Dien Bien Dong district), despite having a modest coffee cart, he has managed to equip it with all the necessary ingredients and tools for brewing. According to Mr. Lo Van Khai, with just a motorbike and about 5 million VND spent on ingredients and building a coffee cart, he can start his "takeaway coffee" business.
“I’ve been selling takeaway coffee for over 3 months. Every day, I park my cart on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, in front of the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum. I stand here because this street is very busy every morning; on average, I sell 50-60 cups of coffee a day, earning about 7-10 million VND per month after deducting expenses,” said Khai.

Takeaway coffee, also known as " cafe take away," was introduced to Vietnam in 2004, but it wasn't until mid-2012 that this business trend truly developed and gained traction, influencing people's habits.
In Dien Bien, this business trend is mainly developing strongly in urban areas, especially in Dien Bien Phu City with nearly 20 outlets. According to surveys, drinks at these takeaway coffee stalls are priced 5-10 thousand VND lower per cup than at coffee shops because this business model cuts down on many costs such as: rent, labor, electricity, water, and asset depreciation…
Conversations with many loyal " takeaway coffee" customers reveal that, compared to traditional coffee business models, " takeaway coffee" has many advantages that have made it a popular trend and a favorite among customers. These advantages include the flexibility and convenience of this model. In today's fast-paced modern life, a delicious, nutritious, and affordable cup of coffee, prepared in just a few minutes and conveniently taken away, meets customer needs. Furthermore, coupled with the explosive growth of food delivery services, this model easily reaches and satisfies customers through online payment methods and quick delivery after ordering.

The "takeaway coffee" business model has become attractive and appealing to consumers. Due to its convenience, affordability, and speed, "takeaway coffee carts" are now found on many streets; becoming a livelihood for many people and creating a new trend in coffee enjoyment.
