Once only selling coffee on the spot, Ms. Do Thi Oanh, in Group 7, Thanh Binh Ward, (Dien Bien Phu City) chose to open a coffee stall following the "take away" trend because of the low operating cost and the ability to reach many customers. Ms. Oanh initiated the first take-away coffee business model in the province and became a familiar address for many customers. After more than a year of operation, this model has affirmed its attraction to many customers in the transportation and mobile industry. The main products are: Red salt coffee, brown coffee, black coffee, silver coffee and salted cocoa, with each cup priced from 20 - 25 thousand VND. On average, Ms. Oanh consumes about 100 cups of coffee per day, serving mainly to truck, bus and car drivers traveling on the route to Muong Cha, Muong Nhe districts and Muong Lay town.

Recently, Ms. Oanh has also actively provided online and in-person vocational training to 7 students, including those from China.
Ms. Do Thi Oanh said: After learning the trade, my students can sell over 70 cups a day like a student in Muong Lay town. Especially, during the Swallow-tail Boat Racing Festival in the town last year, after deducting expenses, some students earned about 2 million VND/day.
Currently, Ms. Oanh also develops bottled coffee services, sending products to neighboring districts to expand the consumption market. Although the counter is simple and the price of drinks is low, the hygiene and safety of food origin are always of concern. At the counter, Ms. Oanh equips dust-proof glass, cleans brewing equipment, and especially selects ingredients that ensure quality and origin so that customers can enjoy them with peace of mind.

As for Mr. Lo Van Khai (from Keo Lom commune, Dien Bien Dong district), although his coffee cart has a modest area, he is still fully equipped with the necessary ingredients and tools for brewing. According to Mr. Lo Van Khai, with just a motorbike and a cost of about 5 million VND to buy ingredients and build a coffee cabinet, he can start a "take away coffee" business.
“I have been selling takeaway coffee for more than 3 months. Every day, I stop my car on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, in front of the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum. The reason I stand here is because every morning this street is very crowded; on average, I sell 50-60 cups of coffee a day, and after deducting expenses, I earn about 7-10 million VND/month,” said Mr. Khai.

Take-away coffee, also known as " take away coffee", was introduced to Vietnam in 2004, but it was not until mid-2012 that this business trend really developed and created attraction, affecting people's habits.
In Dien Bien, this business trend is mainly developing strongly in urban areas, especially in Dien Bien Phu City with nearly 20 points of sale. According to the survey, drinks at take-away coffee stalls are priced 5-10 thousand VND/cup lower than those at coffee shops because this business model cuts many costs such as: premises, labor, electricity, water or asset depreciation...
Talking with many "regular" customers of " take away cafe" we know: Compared to traditional coffee business models, " take away cafe" has many advantages that have become a popular trend and are loved by customers. That is the flexibility and convenience of this model. With the hustle and bustle of modern life, a cup of "delicious - nutritious - cheap" coffee with just a few minutes of preparation and convenient to take away has met the needs of customers. In addition, with the explosive growth of food delivery services, this model is easy to access and "please" customers through online wallet payment methods, fast delivery after ordering.

“Coffee take away” business has become an attractive model, bringing interesting things to consumers. Due to its convenience, cheap price, and speed, “coffee take away” is now present on many streets; becoming the livelihood of many people and creating a new trend of enjoying coffee.
