(CPV) - The 7th Forum on Internationalization of HigherEducation (FIHE) brings together educators, researchers and policy makers from around the world to share ideas, explore challenges and build partnerships to promote global education in general and innovation in international cooperation in higher education in particular.
On November 1, Foreign Trade University organized the 7th Forum on Internationalization of Higher Education (FIHE) with the theme: "International Branches: A New Approach for Multinational Higher Education Institutions in Developing Countries".

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - President of Foreign Trade University emphasized: The annual Forum initiated by Foreign Trade University has become an important platform - where we have the opportunity to exchange and discuss the topic of internationalization of higher education.
The theme of this year’s Forum, “International Branches: A New Approach for Multinational Higher Education Institutions in Developing Countries,” raises an urgent and strategic issue. In the context of global integration and increasing competition, higher education is undergoing profound changes. Vietnam, as an emerging country, has become the epicenter of this trend.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan affirmed: “At Foreign Trade University, we have a strong belief in the value of internationalization. We understand the importance of higher education institutions connecting with each other, not only domestically but also globally. Through the FIHE forum, we aim to create a community of institutions and educators working towards the same goal - making education more global and open to everyone”.
At the Forum, delegates listened to keynote speakers: Mr. Rob Stevens - General Manager of Global Partnership Development, Massey University (New Zealand) shared his speech "One Opportunity, Three Ways to Go - Learnings from Massey's TNE Expansion into Singapore"; Professor Julia Gaimster - Vice President in charge of academics, research and curriculum for students of RMIT University Vietnam shared his speech "RMIT University - Our experience in delivering high quality international education in Vietnam".

After the presentations of the keynote speakers, the plenary discussion of the Forum took place under the coordination of Associate Professor, Dr. Cao Dinh Kien - Head of the International Cooperation Department, Foreign Trade University. The invited guests were domestic and international experts who focused on discussing the opportunities, as well as the difficulties and promising future directions for building international branches in developing countries.
Throughout the discussions, it was agreed that promoting international cooperation, seizing opportunities, addressing challenges and ensuring quality standards are the core elements for developing international branch offices (IBCs) in emerging countries, especially Vietnam. It was agreed that IBCs play an important role in providing modern, world- class learning opportunities for local students, while promoting global cultural and knowledge exchange. Establishing IBCs in emerging markets comes with complex requirements and requires flexibility to adapt to new cultural and social environments. At the same time, it is important to continuously improve teaching methods and practices to meet the evolving needs of students and the requirements of the global education landscape; Promote continuous cooperation to create a closely linked educational ecosystem between universities, governments and businesses, to jointly promote the development of higher education and meet the needs of globalization, while supporting local development.../.
