With a total yield of approximately 1,875 tons, this year's orange harvest is expected to bring the people of Thuong Loc (Can Loc, Ha Tinh ) nearly 47 billion VND in revenue.
This year, the output of Thượng Lộc oranges is quite stable, and prices have increased compared to last year.
According to Nguyen Hai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Loc commune: The entire commune has 230 hectares of orange orchards, of which 150 hectares are ready for harvest; mainly concentrated in the villages of Nam Phong, Thanh My, Son Binh, and Anh Hung.
This year, due to heavy rains, oranges were affected by fungus and dropped prematurely, resulting in an estimated yield of approximately 1,875 tons, a decrease compared to 2022 (nearly 430 tons). However, the product's market remains quite stable, with prices increasing by about 5,000 VND/kg compared to last year. At the beginning of the season, oranges and lemons were sold at an average price of 25,000 VND/kg, while crisp oranges sold for 40,000 VND/kg (currently, prices range from 65,000-70,000 VND/kg). The estimated total income from oranges in Thuong Loc commune this year is nearly 47 billion VND.
