At noon on March 20th, under the hot sun, Ms. Lam Thi Thu Tuyet (from Soc Trang province) held a stack of lottery tickets and offered them to passersby at the intersection of Nguyen Van Bua Street and National Highway 22 (Hoc Mon district).

A little later, Ms. Tuyet opened the lid of the small cabinet with the words "Take what you need, put the rest back in" and took out two packets of instant noodles and a bottle of water. Inside the cabinet, there were still a few loaves of bread and a few packets of instant noodles.

Ms. Tuyet shared that she has been selling lottery tickets for several years. She has taken bread, instant noodles, and drinks from the cabinet above several times, and once she even took milk to take home for her child. Each time she takes food from the cabinet, she only takes what she needs, leaving some for others.

"I don't know who placed this cabinet here, but I want to express my gratitude to the person who placed it, as well as to everyone who put food in it to help those in need," said Ms. Tuyet.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , several residents living near the intersection of Nguyen Van Bua and National Highway 22 said that the cabinet appeared a few weeks ago, but they don't know who placed it. The cabinet usually contains food and drinks left inside by passersby, such as bread, instant noodles, water, and milk.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Thao, who sells orange juice on Nguyen Van Bua Street, said she often sees people on motorbikes putting bread into the bin, and also sees some people taking bread to eat, including young children.

"Seeing that scene warmed my heart. That cabinet helps those in need and the homeless to some extent," said Ms. Thao.
