The Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee met with and extended New Year greetings to officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police.

On the evening of January 22nd, the Party Committee and leaders of the Provincial Police Department held a meeting to extend New Year greetings to officers and soldiers in anticipation of the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025.

Attending the program were: Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Bui Thanh An, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The delegation from the Provincial Police included Major General Bui Quang Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of the Provincial Police; leaders of the Provincial Police; and 250 officers and soldiers representing thousands of officers and soldiers directly performing duties during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Every Lunar New Year, all Vietnamese people look forward to reuniting with their families to celebrate the holiday with many hopes and wishes for the coming year. However, for generations of police officers and soldiers in general, and the Nghe An Provincial Police in particular, before thinking about the reunion during Tet, they all identify with an important task: focusing on protecting security and order, serving the people so they can enjoy the Tet holiday safely and healthily with the spirit of "staying awake so the people can sleep soundly, standing guard so the people can enjoy themselves; taking the joy and happiness of the people as our joy and purpose in life."

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the provincial leadership, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung extended warm greetings and best wishes for a prosperous and fulfilling New Year to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Public Security Party Committee, the Provincial Public Security Directorate, and all officers and soldiers of the Provincial Public Security force. As 2024 draws to a close and the Year of the Dragon is also nearing its end, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that for Nghe An province, 2024 was a very auspicious year, achieving many comprehensive and positive accomplishments, from economic growth, budget revenue, and investment attraction to cultural and sports activities and social welfare work… The Provincial Public Security force played a significant role in achieving these results. As the core force in protecting security and order in the province, the Provincial Police have effectively advised the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and local Party committees and authorities on measures to ensure security and order in accordance with the directives of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, the Ministry of Public Security , and the tasks of the Nghe An Provincial Police. The security and order situation in Nghe An province has been very good for many years, and especially in 2024. All tasks have been completed successfully, with many tasks being completed exceptionally well.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung also emphasized that the Nghe An Provincial Police force is a "strong brand" in suppressing all types of crime, from criminal, economic, and corruption crimes to drug and high-tech crimes. In 2024, the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police successfully carried out many major, high-profile cases, receiving praise from the Ministry of Public Security and the provincial leadership. The Nghe An Provincial Police is also a leading unit in state management, administrative reform, and digital transformation, serving as a permanent and highly effective advisory body in the implementation of Project 06. Regarding administrative reform specifically, the Nghe An Provincial Police is a leading unit of the national police force, ranking first for nine consecutive years.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung also acknowledged the cooperation of the Nghe An Provincial Police force with the provincial Party Committee and government in caring for social welfare in the area. In the program to mobilize support for building and repairing houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in the period 2023-2025, to date, out of more than 12,000 houses in the province that have been supported for repair and new construction, the police force has made the largest contribution. Over the years, the provincial police force has also contributed significantly to the Tet for the Poor program. The spirit of police officers and soldiers, "For the nation, sacrificing oneself; for the people, serving wholeheartedly," is clearly demonstrated in the image of the Nghe An Provincial Police force.

2024 was a very special year for the Nghe An Provincial Police, as they received the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces and, for the 10th consecutive year, were awarded the Prime Minister's flag for excellence in emulation movements. On behalf of the Party Committee, the government, and the people of the province, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung acknowledged, warmly praised, congratulated, and sincerely thanked the Nghe An Provincial Police for their achievements and contributions to the economic and social development, and ensuring national defense and security in the province.

The head of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee emphasized that 2025 is a year of many major events for the country, and the province considers it an extremely important year. Nghe An, along with other localities nationwide, will accelerate and make breakthroughs to achieve the goals and targets of the 2020-2025 term. At the same time, the province will organize Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 20th Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress; and implement a revolution in restructuring and streamlining the organizational apparatus. In this revolution, the police force will make extremely important contributions, including sacrifices. The provincial leaders hope that, with the spirit of continuing the tradition and building upon the achievements and victories of the past, the Nghe An Provincial Police will continue to excellently fulfill its tasks, especially proactively grasping the situation, preparing forces and resources... with the goal of ensuring security and order and stability in the province, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's economic and social goals.

The traditional Lunar New Year is a time for family reunions. While everyone is gathering together, police officers and soldiers continue to perform their duty of "staying awake so the people can sleep, guarding so the people can enjoy themselves." The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Police Directorate will pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the officers performing their duties during the Tet holiday.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Bui Quang Thanh, Director of the Provincial Police, reported to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the plan to ensure security and order for the provincial police force during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025 and social welfare activities aimed at vulnerable people and those in difficult circumstances. On behalf of the provincial police force, he promised the Provincial Party Secretary and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee that, regardless of the circumstances, the police force would remain united and work together to ensure security and safety for the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year peacefully.
