Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, was promoted from Senior Lieutenant General to General.

On the morning of July 14, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong presided over the announcement ceremony and presented decisions to promote military officers to the rank of general and lieutenant general; and to promote police officers to the rank of lieutenant general.

The President presented the decision to promote the rank of general to the Chief of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army Trinh Van Quyet.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Deputy Minister of National Defense ; Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Mr. Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Mr. Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, were promoted from Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.

Mr. Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, were promoted from lieutenant general to senior general.

At the ceremony, President Luong Cuong warmly congratulated the 7 officers on their promotion in rank and position; affirming that this is the recognition and appreciation of the Party, State and people for their dedication and contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The President also emphasized that those who were promoted to military ranks and titles today are all excellent cadres of the Party, the State, and the People's Armed Forces; all received basic, systematic training, matured from units and establishments; and were trained and tested through many positions, fields, and working environments.

Regardless of the circumstances, they always demonstrate that they are cadres with steadfast political will; pure revolutionary ethics; exemplary, dedicated, and responsible in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, maintaining political security, social order and safety.

The President presented the decision to promote the ranks of Senior Lieutenant General to leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense.
