Blockbuster Isak deal ends

Liverpool have not made any moves to sign Alexander Isak, and the striker has no intention of leaving Newcastle United this summer.

Isak is unlikely to leave Newcastle this summer.

Liverpool acted quickly and decisively when recruiting Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Milos Kerkez is also about to arrive. In addition, Florian Wirtz became a record expensive Premier League deal, costing "The Kop" up to 116 million pounds.

Liverpool's transfer plans may not stop there. With Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez likely to leave Merseyside, Arne Slot's side are likely to look for a centre-forward to lead the attack.

Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Isak. However, according to The Telegraph , the Swedish striker is currently happy at St James' Park and has no intention of pushing for a move this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano added: "Currently, the Isak deal is unlikely to happen. Liverpool themselves consider this a very difficult deal to come true. Newcastle is under no pressure to sell players thanks to their stable financial resources."

Arsenal have long admired Isak, but the London club gave up hope of signing him after being asked for at least £150m last year. Newcastle are now demanding a fee closer to £200m to even enter talks.

"The blockbuster Isak deal is considered to be closed soon," wrote Metro .

Isak scored 23 goals in the Premier League and 27 in all competitions as Newcastle won the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League last season.
