Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with industry leaders, policymakers, and organizations advocating for green growth. Networking activities, such as a Q&A session with Nordic Ambassadors and interactive competitions with prizes, will also be held to enhance participation.

The event will officially open with the presence of the Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Mr. Ville Tavio, along with four Nordic Ambassadors to Vietnam. Hundreds of delegates from government agencies, businesses, social organizations, youth representatives, and academics are expected to attend.

The event not only served as an opportunity to promote cooperation between Nordic countries and Vietnam, but also supported Vietnam in achieving its key environmental commitments, including the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, which Vietnam committed to at COP26. Solutions for energy transition, circular economy, and sustainable food system development were shared priorities aimed at supporting Vietnam in achieving its long-term sustainable development goals.

At the Nordic Day - Towards Green Goals event held within the framework of GEFE 2024, the Nordic Ambassadors emphasized the region's pioneering role in green transition and sustainable development.

Ambassador Nicolai Prytz of Denmark affirmed that the transition to green energy is a prerequisite for promoting sustainable development in other sectors such as transport and industry. According to him, this is not only a climate task but also a significant economic opportunity. He hoped that this event could inspire and open up opportunities for cooperation between the Nordic countries and Vietnam.

In addition, the Norwegian Ambassador, Ms. Hilde Solbakken, emphasized the importance of the circular economy in sustainable development. She introduced the Nordic approach to optimizing resources, minimizing waste, and promoting sustainable consumption, and expressed her hope that Vietnam could adopt similar models to reduce its dependence on raw materials and improve waste management efficiency.

Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi stated that the Nordic region aims to become the most integrated and sustainable region in the world by 2030. He emphasized that the region's success stems from close cooperation among its member states and expressed his hope that this event will enable these nations to continue working together to build a sustainable future.

On his part, Finnish Ambassador Keijo Norvanto stated that the focus is on how climate change has affected all sectors and all people, and called for strong policies to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

He emphasized the role of youth in the policy-making process and expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to discuss with Vietnamese youth, sharing stories about how Nordic countries have built a culture of youth participation in climate change issues.

The event not only shared success stories from Northern Europe but also served as a forum for exchange to promote Vietnam's sustainable development journey, while encouraging cooperation between the two sides to achieve the dual goals of economic growth and environmental protection.
