People "try first, decide later."
In the eastern part of the province, from the beginning of 2026, PVOIL Phu Yen started selling E10 gasoline, and by the end of March and beginning of April, the unit had launched it on a large scale. Currently, all 48 stores in the PVOIL Phu Yen system are supplying E10 gasoline to the market. Meanwhile, from May 2nd, the Petrolimex Phu Yen branch also imported E10 gasoline and organized sales to consumers.
In the western part of the province, from April 30, 2026, Petrolimex Dak Lak Co., Ltd. will supply E10 gasoline at Petrol Station No. 6, Nguyen Tat Thanh Street and Petrol Station No. 14, Ha Huy Tap Street.
There were no major disruptions or supply shortages, a common observation at gas stations during the first week of E10 rollout. Consumer sentiment was generally cautious but not closed off. Initially, customers inquired frequently, then tried it, and consumption gradually increased.
At many gas stations, a noticeable shift in consumer sentiment is evident day by day. Initially, most customers were hesitant, primarily asking for information and comparing it to traditional gasoline. However, after a short time, many have proactively chosen E10 gasoline to experience its benefits.
Mr. To Van Hanh, a ride-hailing driver in Phu Yen ward, said: "At first, I was worried, afraid it would affect the engine, so I only poured a little to test it. But after using it a few times, I found that the car operated normally, with no major difference, so now I feel more at ease."
From a citizen's perspective, Ms. Ho Thi Men (Ea Kao ward) shared that after receiving advice from staff and seeing many people trusting and using the product, she decided to try it. After experiencing it for a while, she found the vehicle to operate smoothly and stably, so now she is completely confident in using it.
According to observations, the "try before you decide" mentality is helping the E10 market get off to a stable start. This is considered a positive sign, showing that E10 is gradually building initial trust, paving the way for expanded use in the future.

The three stakeholders are working together in the E10 gasoline transition process.
To ensure that E10 gasoline is accepted by the public, gas stations are playing a crucial role in providing advice and explanations. Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc, Head of Business Department at PVOIL Phu Yen, stated: “We require our staff to have a thorough understanding of the information to answer customer questions and clarify the benefits of biofuel for the environment, the economy , and consumers. This contributes to promoting an effective and sustainable transition to clean fuels. The company ensures a stable supply for the market.”
After being on the market for some time, E10 hasn't created a huge sensation but has had a stable start. Suppliers haven't received any negative feedback from consumers regarding product quality.
Discussing this issue, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu An, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province, affirmed that switching to E10 bioethanol is not just about changing a type of fuel, but about changing consumer thinking towards a greener, more sustainable, and more environmentally responsible approach.
According to Ms. An, the success of this roadmap largely depends on the joint efforts of the "three parties." Specifically, for the people, trust, proactive access to official information, and willingness to cooperate in the transition will be crucial factors determining the success of this roadmap. For businesses, especially those in the petroleum industry, this is a responsibility but also an opportunity to improve service quality and adapt to the clean energy trend. The Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade is committed to accompanying the people and businesses throughout the transition process; ensuring a stable market, a smooth supply, controlled quality, and the best possible protection of consumer rights.
