Growing up within the Youth Pioneer movement.

Team activities always attract enthusiastic participation from children from schools throughout the city.

Le Na said that she has been involved in the Youth Pioneer Organization since the 5th grade and has been with it for over 3 years now. For her, the Youth Pioneer Organization is not only a place for collective activities but also an environment that helps her grow and mature every day.

"I feel that participating in the Youth Union activities helps me grow more mature every day. As a member, I think my friends need to diligently follow the five teachings of Uncle Ho and study hard so that they can contribute to building the country in the future," Le Na shared.

Passionate about information technology, Le Na is currently studying programming and hopes to work in the technology industry in the future to contribute to the country's development. She believes that children today can also contribute through practical actions such as helping the elderly access technology and spreading digital skills within the community.

Nguyen Hoai Anh, a student from Nguyen Trung Truc Secondary School (Thoi An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), was delighted to receive a certificate of merit for being an outstanding student leader after many efforts.

Also having grown up through the activities of the Youth Union, Nguyen Hoai Anh, a student at Nguyen Trung Truc Secondary School (Thoi An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), views her years participating in the youth movement as a journey of experience and overcoming many challenges. “My journey participating in the Youth Union activities has been full of joy and excitement, but also many difficulties, though I always try my best to overcome them,” Hoai Anh shared.

One of the most memorable experiences for Hoai Anh was the exchange trip to Champasak province (Laos), where she represented Ho Chi Minh City's children in international exchange activities. During that trip, Hoai Anh and her friends visited underprivileged children, toured historical sites, and learned a lot about the culture and solidarity between the children of the two countries.

"Getting to where I am today is the result of my own hard work. I hope to continue spreading my love for the Youth Union to children in Ho Chi Minh City and throughout the country," Hoai Anh said.

In addition to academics, musical and team activities are always enthusiastically participated in by the team members.

For Kim Nguyen Ngoc Bao Tu, a member of the Phan Dang Luu Secondary School's Youth Union (Dong Thanh commune, Ho Chi Minh City), her greatest pride is being able to represent the school and receive a certificate of merit on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Youth Union's founding.

Bao Tu said that the youth project was the activity that left the most lasting impression on her school's youth group. Thanks to donations from students, the school provided musical instruments such as drums and trumpets for the youth group, and also built additional facilities to support learning and activities.

“As a team leader, I always try to encourage my teammates to participate in activities and maintain their enthusiasm so that we can develop the movement together. In the future, I will continue to strive to study and practice according to the five teachings of Uncle Ho,” Bao Tu shared.

The team has always been a training ground and a place for children to grow and mature.

According to Ms. Trinh Thi Hien Tran, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Council, for the past 85 years, the Youth Union has always played a core role in children's movements and has been an important educational environment both inside and outside of school for many generations of Vietnamese children.

From the young members who participated in the revolution during the resistance war to the current generation of members, the Youth Pioneer Movement in Ho Chi Minh City has always been maintained and developed strongly. After the reunification of the country, from the initial 50 members, the city now has more than 1 million members out of a total of over 3 million children and young people.

Outstanding team leaders provide a source of future Youth Union officials.

In anticipation of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization, children in Ho Chi Minh City participated in many meaningful activities such as journeys to historical sites, the "Small Plan" movement, the "Two Friends Progressing Together" campaign, building a "Uncle Ho with Children" space, and caring for more than 10,300 disadvantaged young pioneers and children.

In particular, the movement to develop members has admitted more than 37,200 children into the Young Pioneers organization; more than 6,200 outstanding members have been recommended to join the ranks of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Many youth group activities in Ho Chi Minh City have recently been reformed to be more relatable and practical, attracting a large number of children to participate. The youth groups focus on organizing skill-building playgrounds, creative experiential activities, history education, life skills training, environmental protection, and digital transformation activities suitable for each age group. Through these activities, many members not only mature academically but also become more confident in communication, learn to share and help friends, and become more responsible to the community.

According to Ms. Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, in the context of rapid scientific and technological development and increasingly deep international integration, the work of the Youth Union and Children's Union needs to continue to innovate in a way that harmoniously combines tradition and modernity, promotes digital transformation, and expands methods of educating children in cyberspace.

Ms. Tuyet believes that the activities of the Youth Union not only help children learn, play, and develop skills, but also contribute to shaping a beautiful lifestyle, a spirit of solidarity, compassion, and responsibility towards family and society.

"We need to continue focusing on training and developing the team leaders and commanders of the Youth Union to create a source of future Youth Union cadres for the city," Ms. Tuyet emphasized.

According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, in addition to traditional education, future activities of the Youth Union need to pay more attention to children in remote areas and children from disadvantaged backgrounds; and at the same time, strengthen the equipping of life skills, cultural behavior skills, and a sense of responsibility to the community for the city's children.

"I hope the Youth Union organization will continue to develop strongly, worthy of being a companion for generations of children and teenagers in Ho Chi Minh City," Ms. Tuyet shared.
