The 2026 Youth Workers' Festival is a meaningful activity aimed at celebrating the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union's traditional day.
On this occasion, a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper had an interview with Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Central Youth Union's Youth and Children Affairs Department, and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, about the new features, significance, and expectations of the program.
Creating opportunities for young workers to develop themselves.
Sir, the 2026 Young Workers' Festival is being held in a special context, as young people across the country are looking forward to the 13th National Congress of the Youth Union. Could you share the significance of the program?
The "Youth Workers' Festival - Spreading Positive Energy 2026" is organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation in coordination with TCP Vietnam Company in many localities across the country.

The program serves as a platform for young workers and takes place at a very significant time for young people nationwide. This is the year of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union - a major political event for Vietnamese youth, marking a new stage of development for the Youth Union and the youth movement.
Over the years, young workers have consistently been one of the largest social forces, making direct contributions to the country's economic development, industrialization, and modernization. They are both productive workers and pioneers in accessing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation within enterprises.
Through this event, we aim to create an environment where young workers receive comprehensive care and attention in terms of their material and spiritual well-being, as well as opportunities for personal development. This will further motivate young people to confidently contribute to society.

This is also an opportunity for the Youth Union and Associations to listen to the thoughts, aspirations, and suggestions of young workers, in order to continue innovating the content and methods of their activities in the new term. From there, we hope to establish Youth Union and Association organizations in enterprises, industrial parks, and worker housing areas.
The festival, with its activities celebrating the 13th National Congress of the Youth Union, also contributed to spreading a vibrant spirit of emulation among union members and young people, affirming the role of the Youth Union and Youth Association in supporting young people in all fields, including young workers.
Celebrating positive values
What new features will the program have in 2026 to better meet the needs of young workers, sir?
We believe that all activities for young workers must stem from the practical needs of the beneficiaries themselves. Therefore, this year's event is designed to be diverse, practical, and enhance experiential learning.

In addition to the cultural, sports, and artistic activities that have become hallmarks of the program, we place greater emphasis on content that supports the enhancement of professional competence, digital skills, and skills to adapt to new work environments.
In addition, the program continues to implement activities such as free medical examinations and health consultations, mental health care, and gift-giving to disadvantaged young workers and children of workers who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies. We also expand community networking activities, creating opportunities for young workers to interact, share experiences, and participate in healthy recreational activities.
Importantly, the event is not just a one-day or one-location event, but is implemented as a series of activities across many provinces, cities, and industrial zones nationwide, including Phu Tho, Gia Lai, and Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to bring welfare activities closer to young workers.

One of the overarching messages of the program is "Spreading positive energy." In your opinion, what does this message mean for young workers today?
In the context of increasing work pressure, fostering optimism, a drive for success, and a desire to contribute among young workers is essential. The "positive energy" we want to spread is not simply about feeling happy or enthusiastic in group activities. It also encompasses belief in the future, a commitment to continuous learning and skill development, and a sense of responsibility towards work, family, and community.
In reality, many young workers are striving to overcome difficulties, actively studying to improve their skills, participating in technical innovation movements, and contributing to their businesses and society. They are truly inspiring role models.

Through this event, we aim to honor these positive values and motivate every young worker to recognize that they are an important part of the country's development. When young people have faith, goals to strive for, and are given opportunities for development, they will spread positive values to their colleagues, families, and communities.
This is also a way for the Youth Union and Associations to contribute to building a new generation of young workers with strong political convictions, professional skills, industrial work ethics, and aspirations for advancement.
Please feel free to suggest your ideas.
The task of gathering and uniting young workers has always been a priority for the Youth Union and Associations. How will this year's event contribute to this goal?
Young workers are a highly mobile workforce with unique working and living conditions. Therefore, organizing and uniting young workers always requires flexible, creative, and practical methods.
The Youth Workers' Festival is one of the effective models that has been implemented over the years. The program creates opportunities for Youth Union and Association organizations to reach out to young workers, understand their needs, and develop appropriate support models. This is one of the effective solutions for implementing the "Unity and Gathering of Young Workers and Laborers" project for the period 2026-2030 of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
In the coming period, the Vietnam Youth Union will continue to promote models for gathering young workers in the digital space, while strengthening activities to support learning, improve professional skills, and care for cultural and spiritual life to attract young people to participate in the organization.
I believe that when young people perceive the practical value that an organization brings, they will proactively engage with and participate in its movements.
What message would you like to convey to young workers nationwide ahead of the 13th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union?
The 13th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union is an event for Vietnamese youth, including young workers. I hope that each young person will continue to promote the spirit of creative labor, proactively learn, improve their professional qualifications, vocational skills, and digital capabilities to adapt to the new demands of the labor market.

We encourage you to boldly propose initiatives, participate in emulation movements, and actively contribute ideas to the Youth Union, Associations, and community activities. Every effort today will not only help you develop but also contribute to building a stronger and more prosperous enterprise, locality, and country.
I also expect that young workers will continue to be the pioneering force in spreading good values, a sense of responsibility, a will to overcome difficulties, and a desire to contribute. These are the valuable "positive energies" that will join the youth of the whole country in celebrating the 13th National Congress of the Youth Union, contributing to realizing the aspiration for national development in the new era.
Thank you!
