On July 8th, the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, in collaboration with Ho Tram Project Company Limited, organized a seminar on "Initiatives to promote and attract tourists to Ba Ria-Vung Tau".

Speaking at the seminar, a representative from the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Tourism Association stated that: Although known to many domestic and international tourists, the tourism industry in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has not yet fully exploited its existing potential; tourism in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province still has many limitations, lacking new and distinctive products compared to other provinces such as Da Nang , Nha Trang, and Quang Ninh… Simultaneously, the province's tourism potential has not been fully exploited for many years, and Vung Tau's tourism products are currently incomplete, imperfect, lacking uniqueness, and developing spontaneously, lacking coordination to complement and support to create an attractive product chain; there are no new products, an overabundance of resorts, and a lack of entertainment and recreation…

The Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Tourism Association proposes that the province's tourism industry should strengthen its communication, promotion, and tourism marketing activities. This includes enhancing communication, publicity, and promotion of the province's tourism image, destinations, and new tourism products on international media channels, websites, social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, etc.), and other appropriate promotional methods to create a wider reach and attract tourists to Ba Ria - Vung Tau as a "safe, friendly, and attractive tourist destination"; coordinating with organizations and agencies to implement product promotion programs in key markets; and actively implementing long-term strategic tourism promotion programs.

Agreeing with the assessment of some limitations of tourism in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Van Hanh, Deputy Head of the Tourism Faculty at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that: In the short term, Ba Ria - Vung Tau must expand its market and diversify its sources of tourists, especially attracting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourists, business travelers, and international tourists to increase their length of stay. To attract these tourist segments, many factors must be synchronized, including: building unique and distinctive destinations different from other localities, consistency in marketing and promotion policies, communicating the core values of the region through diverse information channels from mainstream media to social networks, and connecting the responsibilities of all stakeholders involved in tourism activities…

Regarding the role of tourism businesses in diversifying products and promoting and attracting tourists to the province, a representative from Ho Tram Project Co., Ltd. stated that: For the best interests of both the province and tourism businesses, it is crucial to have attractive and sustainable services, provide quality services, and ultimately generate profits.

In fact, it's not just individual businesses that need to diversify their tourism products (for example, resorts that essentially offer the same experiential services in different forms), but rather many businesses that provide experiential services at different levels. These are factors that support the development of regional tourism. Providing services and products for the middle class, upper class, etc. Each customer segment will have different requirements.

Also at the seminar, representatives from many large tourism businesses suggested that the province focus on completing the inter-provincial, inter-regional, and intra-provincial transportation system; develop a strategy to attract tourists from the highly potential market of the Southwestern region; plan and attract investment to develop night-time economic products; and research direct promotion at prestigious international tourism fairs…

Concluding the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, acknowledged and highly appreciated the heartfelt ideas and strategic vision of the experts, businesses, and investors.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that most proposals and recommendations from experts and businesses are being implemented by the province through specific programs and plans. Regarding transportation infrastructure, the province is focusing on investing in completing a comprehensive transportation system that seamlessly connects all tourist areas within the province. The province has also recently commenced construction on the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway and the Phuoc An bridge connecting the inter-port road with Dong Nai province… aiming to strengthen tourism linkages in particular and socio-economic linkages in general with localities in the region.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Ba Ria-Vung Tau always creates favorable conditions for the business community to invest and develop, and hopes that the business community will cooperate with the province in the spirit of "if you want to move fast, you must move together".
