The focal point of Vietnamese cinema during those historic April days belonged to the film "Tunnels - The Sun in the Darkness" by director Bui Thac Chuyen. For the younger generation born after the war, the film is a way to reconnect with history through emotionally charged stories expressed through the language of cinema.

The Ha Giang Provincial Youth Union organized a thematic activity to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the Unification of the Country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

A thematic event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) was organized by the Ha Giang Provincial Youth Union. At this event, youth union members from armed forces units and schools in Ha Giang city had the opportunity to review the glorious historical traditions of our army and people during the two great resistance wars. And especially, they watched the film "Củ Chi Tunnels - The Sun in the Darkness" – an emotionally rich film about the Cu Chi tunnels.

"The Tunnels," directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, tells the story of the soldiers and guerrillas fighting in the "iron fortress" of Cu Chi. The film is set after the Cedar Falls operation in 1967 – a US military campaign aimed at destroying the South Vietnamese Liberation Army's base. More than just a movie, it 's a creative and effective form of political and ideological education, tailored to the needs of today's youth. Through vivid visual experiences, young people can easily access history, thereby fostering love for their homeland, nurturing a sense of responsibility, and encouraging dedication to the community.

In Ha Giang, many young viewers enthusiastically flocked to the cinema to watch the film "Tunnels - The Sun in the Darkness".

To date, "The Underground Tunnel - The Sun in the Darkness" has grossed 130 billion VND, according to Box Office Vietnam data. In Ha Giang, many young audiences are enthusiastically flocking to theaters to watch this film. Currently, the Venus Cinema complex in Ha Giang city has 5 screenings per day at most times to serve the audience.
