Spring arrives in Da Huoai 2, the land of billionaire durian farmers.

In the early days of spring, when the southern sun was just warm enough, we followed the roads leading into the key production area of Da Huoai 2 commune. The smooth concrete road wound through vast expanses of lush green orchards, here and there peeking out from clusters of durian trees in full bloom, bearing plump, vibrant fruit.

The rural landscape of Da Huoai 2 commune is becoming increasingly vibrant.

Spring arrives in the durian orchards, and Da Huoai 2 also dons the radiant beauty of a rapidly developing rural area. An atmosphere of excitement is evident in every house, every garden, and in the optimistic eyes of the farmers as they embark on a new production season.

Da Huoai 2 is blessed with unique climatic and soil conditions particularly suitable for fruit trees, especially durian. Recognizing this advantage, the locality quickly identified durian as a key crop in its agricultural structure.

To date, the entire commune has over 3,400 hectares of durian, of which over 2,800 hectares are already producing fruit, with an annual output of more than 35,000 tons. These impressive figures clearly demonstrate the position of Lam Dong province as the "durian capital".

From their orchards laden with fruit, a new generation of farmers has risen to wealth, becoming true "billionaire farmers." Many households achieve annual revenues of tens of billions of dong, with stable incomes ranging from several billion to over ten billion dong. Remarkably, this wealth doesn't come from luck, but from modern production thinking, the application of science and technology, systematic orchard management, and keen market awareness.

Da Huoai 2 is also a leading locality in building concentrated raw material areas, granting planting area codes, and linking production along the value chain. Currently, the commune has been granted 27 durian planting area codes with an area of over 1,200 hectares; many production areas meet VietGAP standards, serving official export channels. Cooperatives and cooperative groups operate effectively, playing a role in connecting farmers with businesses, helping to stabilize product output.

Thanks to large-scale, high-quality production, the income per unit area of the commune reached approximately 291 million VND/hectare – a very high level compared to the provincial average. Average per capita income exceeded 100 million VND/year, and people's lives are becoming increasingly prosperous. Solid houses are springing up amidst lush green gardens, and the transportation, electricity, water, school, and health station systems have been comprehensively invested in, significantly transforming the rural landscape.

Walking along the roads leading to the production area on the first day of the year, we could easily feel the new rhythm of life spreading. People were busy tending their orchards, preparing for the next harvest, but on everyone's face shone a sense of hope and excitement.

This comprehensive transformation has helped the locality not only become wealthier but also a desirable place to live.

As spring arrives, amidst the vast green expanse of durian orchards and the bustling life of the villages, Da Huoai 2 emerges as a fertile, dynamic, and aspirational land. From the roads leading to the production areas to the orchards laden with fruit, everything tells the story of a locality leading the economic development of Lam Dong province – where spring is associated with prosperity, abundance, and faith in a sustainable future.
