According to Mr. Lo A Seng, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Lien commune, on the afternoon of June 29th, the local authorities received a report from the families of two children, Ly A P. (born in 2014) and Ly A S. (born in 2017), of the Mong ethnic group, residing in Lao Hang Chai village, who had gone out to play for several hours and had not returned home. Suspecting that the children had gone to the stream to catch fish and been swept away by the flood, the local authorities mobilized hundreds of people to search for them.
On the morning of July 2nd, when teachers and security guards from Lao Chai Primary School arrived to open the storage room to get supplies for cooking for the search team from the commune, they heard cries for help from the children on the third-floor ceiling of the classroom building. They went to check and brought the children home.
According to the accounts of Ly A P. and Ly A S., on the afternoon of June 29th, they went to Lao Chai Primary School to play, then climbed onto the roof of the third floor and got stuck, unable to get down. Their safety after more than three days without food was thanks to a drinking water tank in the area where they were trapped.

Immediately after finding the two lost children, medical staff arrived to check their health and provide initial care to the family to help stabilize their psychological well-being. Currently, the health of both children is generally stable.

Authorities are urgently searching for two missing children in Hoang Lien commune (Sa Pa).
