Positive results

According to Nguyen Thi Thuy Kieu, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Tinh Bien Town : “In recent times, implementing digital transformation has been a key task, actively carried out by all sectors and localities throughout the town. This has contributed to raising people's awareness of the necessity of applying digital transformation to their lives. To date, many digital products and services have been applied, serving people and businesses more promptly and effectively. The application of digital technology in various aspects of social life is becoming increasingly widespread and highly effective.”

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Kieu, the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town has requested departments and localities to accelerate digital transformation in public administrative transactions, in the management and implementation of political tasks at the local level and within units. Specifically, this includes applying digital technology to serve COVID-19 prevention and control, online teaching and learning, e-commerce, etc.

To date, 50% of the town's adult population owns smartphones; 50% of the population (aged 15 and above) have payment transaction accounts at banks or other authorized institutions; 54.9% of households are registered for Internet service; 100% of businesses and business households use electronic invoices; and 20% of small and medium-sized enterprises use digital platforms...

Youth union members and young people in Tinh Bien town actively participate in digital transformation.

In particular, the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town is promoting the implementation of e-government. Currently, 100% of agencies at all levels effectively apply the document management and operational guidance software (iOffice) using digital signatures; 100% of incoming and outgoing documents are exchanged via the software; 100% of agencies, departments, organizations, and commune/ward People's Committees effectively use the province's email system; ensuring 100% of equipment, internet connection, and staff are assigned to be on duty for online meetings; maintaining and operating online meeting rooms…

“The People's Committee of the town also requested that departments and localities, in the process of implementing digital transformation, must put the people and businesses at the center, as the subjects, as the goal and driving force, in order to provide higher quality and faster services. Through this, they can truly and effectively benefit from the achievements of digital transformation, aiming towards the formation of digital citizens and a digital society throughout the town,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Kieu.

Pioneering Youth

Nguyen Duy Phuong, Secretary of the Tinh Bien Town Youth Union, informed: “Recently, we coordinated with the Town's Department of Culture and Information to launch the “Tinh Bien Youth with Digital Transformation” campaign in 2023, aiming to raise awareness about Project 06/CP and digital transformation among Youth Union members and local residents. After the launch ceremony, Youth Union members directly propagated and guided people to install the SmartAngiang and VNeID applications; promoted the use of online public services and cashless payments in Chi Lang ward; and held a propaganda parade on the town's major roads…”.

In addition, the Tinh Bien Town Youth Union requested its affiliated Youth Union branches to establish "Community Digital Transformation Teams" to support the enhancement of digital skills for young people and citizens; organize a "High-intensity Volunteer Activity Day to Support Citizens in Using Online Public Services" during Youth Month 2023; and organize teams to provide direct guidance and support at the "one-stop" service centers of communes, wards, agencies, and units for citizens and businesses.

Based on the achievements, the Tinh Bien Town Youth Union continues to promote its pioneering role in implementing digital transformation. Specifically, it will further strengthen propaganda and education through meetings and training conferences on digital transformation; apply social media to improve the effectiveness of propaganda, information exchange, and management of the Youth Union organization; and proactively advise and contribute to the Party Committee and heads of agencies, units, and localities on solutions to promote digital transformation in all areas of activity.

“With the spirit of ‘wherever youth are needed, youth will be there; whatever is difficult, youth will overcome it,’ along with the support of Party committees, government agencies, departments, organizations, and society, we believe that the activities of Tinh Bien youth in digital transformation will continue to yield many positive results, contributing to promoting digital transformation in the town,” affirmed Mr. Nguyen Duy Phuong.

According to Nguyen Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the An Giang Department of Information and Communications, the coordinated activities between the Tinh Bien Town Youth Union and the Department of Culture and Information will create momentum to promote digital transformation in the locality. Based on this, it will contribute positively to achieving the criteria for building a civilized urban area in Tinh Bien town in the coming time.
