* Industrial production value (at 2010 constant prices) April 2024 is estimated to reach VND 231.9 billion, an increase of 9.1% compared to March 2024, and an increase of 9.3% compared to the same period last year, including:
- The mining industry experienced high growth due to strong construction activity, leading to increased demand for construction stone and sand. Production value reached VND 12.4 billion, an increase of 86% compared to March 2024, and a 0.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
- The processing and manufacturing industry experienced high growth compared to March 2024 and the same period last year due to tea harvesting, an increase in the area of tea plantations, and stable operation of the Norcem Yen Binh cement plant. Production value reached VND 74.3 billion, an increase of 32.71% compared to March 2024 and 76.7% compared to the same period last year.
- Electricity production reached VND 141 billion, a decrease of 3.2% compared to March 2024 and a decrease of 8.4% compared to the same period last year due to low rainfall in April and the continuing hot weather; the Lai Chau and Ban Chat hydropower plants continue to store water to serve the peak hot months of 2024 (May-June) to ensure the implementation of solutions to minimize the risk of water shortage for downstream areas of river basins during the dry season of 2024 as directed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Industry and Trade .
- The water production and waste collection industries remained stable, with a production value of 4.2 billion VND, an increase of 0.5% compared to March 2024 and an increase of 11.4% compared to the same period last year.
* Some key products produced are estimated to reach: Electricity production 158.9 million kWh; construction stone 46,500 m³ ; dried tea 1,160 tons; construction bricks 7.2 million pieces; tap water production 496,000 m³ ; cement 20,300 tons .
The number of communes, wards, and towns with access to the national power grid is 106 out of 106, reaching 100%. The number of households using the national power grid is 102,696 out of 106,421 households, reaching 96.5%. The number of villages using the national power grid is 933 out of 958 villages, reaching 97.4%.
Commercial activities : Total retail sales of goods and services in April 2024 are estimated at VND 762.3 billion, a 4.67% increase compared to March 2024, and an 11.2% increase compared to the same period last year, including: Retail sales of goods are estimated at VND 643.4 billion, a 4.47% increase compared to March 2024 and an 11.6% increase compared to the same period last year; accommodation and food services are estimated at VND 58.7 billion, an 8.9% increase compared to the previous month and a 9.9% increase compared to the same period last year; travel services and tourism support activities are estimated at VND 0.52 billion, a 15.6% increase compared to March 2024 and a 6.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Other services are estimated to reach VND 59.7 billion, an increase of 2.8% compared to March 2024, and an increase of 8.9% compared to the same period last year.
The main service categories in the province are: Food and foodstuffs (223.9 billion VND); clothing (38.3 billion VND); household goods and appliances (77.3 billion VND); cultural and educational items (4.7 billion VND); wood and construction materials (82.6 billion VND); transportation (36.6 billion VND); gasoline and oil (105 billion VND); and other goods and services (193.9 billion VND).
Import and export activities: The total value of goods imported and exported in the province in April 2024 is estimated at 2.86 million USD, an increase of 14.5% compared to March 2024, but a decrease of 67.6% compared to the same period last year, specifically:
- Goods export turnover reached US$1.64 million, an increase of 11.03% compared to March 2024 and 7.06% compared to the same period last year. Of this, the value of local goods exports reached US$0.54 million, an increase of 4.69% compared to March 2024 and 1.9% compared to the same period last year. Some of the main export items of the locality include: 180 tons of tea, valued at US$0.47 million, an increase of 34.3% compared to the same period last year; and other goods valued at US$0.07 million.
- The value of imported goods reached US$1.22 million, an increase of 19.52% compared to March 2024, but a decrease of 83.27% compared to the same period last year.
Industrial promotion activities : Continue conducting surveys, gathering information, and making interviews to support the production of the documentary "Propagating and mobilizing households to participate in the movement of households using energy efficiently and effectively" (issue 02); continue implementing the project "Supporting the development and registration of trademarks for industrial and handicraft products". Organize "Training to improve management capacity, awareness and application of cleaner production in industry".
