TKV achieves its plan for the first six months of the year.

In 2026, the global economic and political landscape continued to be volatile and complex, putting significant pressure on the production and business costs of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV). In addition, the weather at the end of May saw unusually heavy rains, affecting the progress of achieving production targets at many mines. Despite facing numerous difficulties, TKV proactively and flexibly managed its operations to maintain production momentum and was determined to accelerate towards achieving its plan targets for the first six months of the year.

In particular, TKV has excellently fulfilled its core political task of ensuring national energy security in accordance with the spirit of the Directives and Resolutions of the Politburo and the Government. "In the first five months, coal consumption reached 22.17 million tons, equivalent to 101.1% of the same period last year. The amount of coal supplied to thermal power plants alone reached 18.36 million tons. On May 15, 2026, when the national power system's peak capacity reached a historical high of 55,152 MW due to intense heat, TKV's coal supply was promptly mobilized to ensure the safe and stable operation of power generation units," said Mr. Vu Van Dien, Head of TKV's Coal Production Department.

Alongside the coal sector, the mineral and metallurgical segment also maintained relatively stable operations with alumina production reaching 583.9 thousand tons and steel billets reaching 59.78 thousand tons (137.6% compared to the same period last year). The well-being of employees continued to be carefully considered, with an average income across the Group reaching 19.8 million VND/person/month, and the coal production sector reaching 21.0 million VND/person/month.

Entering June, the pressure to complete the first six-month plan is immense as weather forecasts shift to a period of intense heat interspersed with unusual thunderstorms, while fuel and input material prices continue to rise. TKV's projected June targets are to produce 3.13 million tons of raw coal and 3.3 million tons of clean coal; cumulative figures for the first six months are expected to reach 19.42 million tons and 19.58 million tons respectively, equivalent to over 52% of the annual plan. Coal consumption is projected at 5.02 million tons, bringing the total consumption for the first six months to 27.18 million tons, or 54.4% of the plan. Of this, coal for power generation accounts for the largest proportion at 22.48 million tons. TKV also plans to import 1.54 million tons of coal in June, raising the total import volume for the first six months to approximately 7.05 million tons, or 64.1% of the annual plan. Consolidated revenue is targeted at VND 16,513 billion, bringing total revenue for the first half of the year to VND 93,587 billion (reaching 54.5% of the annual plan) and aiming for cumulative profit of VND 2,600 billion.

To realize the above objective, TKV has outlined key solutions. The Group focuses on reviewing and boosting domestic coal production and processing, preparing human resources and equipment to increase mining output by more than 15% of the licensed capacity as soon as it is approved by the Government . At the same time, units proactively monitor weather developments and consumer demand to balance mining, imports, and inventory management appropriately.

Internal management and cost reduction are prioritized through strict control of technological indicators and preventing any unplanned workload. TKV also promotes the use of internal products and services such as mechanical engineering, lubricants, transportation, and tunnel excavation to optimize costs while ensuring employment for the supporting sectors.

Prior to the rainy season, disaster response, search and rescue, and occupational safety and health are being thoroughly implemented in accordance with the new Resolution of the Group's Party Committee. The ultimate goal is to identify risks early, effectively control mine gas and drainage, resolutely minimize labor accidents, and prevent serious incidents. With the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of miners, TKV is steadily overcoming geological obstacles and market pressures, aiming to comprehensively fulfill all targets for the first six months of the year, creating a solid foundation for the entire year 2026.
