On the morning of April 28th, the People's Committee of Yen Ninh commune (Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province) coordinated with Warehouse 708 (Military Medical Department, General Department of Logistics and Technology) to hold a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing the historical site where the Viet Bac Inter-regional Military Pharmaceutical Warehouse was established, the predecessor of Warehouse 708 today.

In early 1951, the Military Medical Department decided to establish the Viet Bac Inter-Regional Military Pharmaceutical Warehouse (codename Warehouse A), tasked with receiving medicines and medical equipment from military pharmaceutical factories, aid from socialist countries, and war spoils; inspecting, packaging, preserving, and distributing medicines and medical equipment to units stationed in the Viet Bac Inter-Region. Simultaneously, it served as a reserve warehouse for the Military Medical Department, from where medicines were transported to battlefields in the South. The main headquarters of the warehouse was located in Suoi Ben hamlet, Yen Ninh commune.

On August 21, 2000, the General Department of Logistics (now the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services) issued a decision recognizing May 1, 1951, as the founding date of Warehouse 708 (Military Medical Department). Over more than 70 years of development, combat, and growth, despite numerous changes in name, organization, and staffing, thanks to the leadership and guidance of all levels, and the support and assistance of local authorities and people, the warehouse's officers, staff, and soldiers have successfully completed their tasks of receiving, preserving, managing, packaging, and distributing supplies, both regularly and unexpectedly. Currently, Warehouse 708 is recognized as a strategic warehouse for the entire army.

Leaders of Phu Luong district presented the provincial-level historical site ranking certificate and offered flowers to congratulate Yen Ninh commune and Warehouse 708.

To commemorate the founding and promote the glorious traditions of Warehouse 708, with the support and assistance of local authorities at all levels, in 2001, Warehouse 708 erected a memorial plaque; in 2021, the plaque was renovated and a memorial house was built at the Suoi Ben hamlet cultural center, Yen Ninh commune. Since its construction, in recent years, the local government and people have regularly organized activities to care for, protect, and promote the value of the relic, especially during community gatherings.

On February 14, 2025, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province signed a decision classifying the historical site where the Viet Bac Inter-regional Military Pharmaceutical Warehouse (the predecessor of Warehouse 708, Military Medical Department today) was established as a provincial-level historical relic. This is the first historical site in Yen Ninh commune to be recognized and classified; it is a source of honor and pride for the local government, people, and generations of officers, staff, and soldiers of Warehouse 708.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of Yen Ninh commune affirmed that in the coming time, they will continue to lead and direct the promotion of propaganda and education to raise people's awareness of the historical and cultural significance and value of the relic. At the same time, they will actively organize activities to manage, care for, protect, and effectively exploit the value of the relic, and introduce this significant historical site to students in the area.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the decision of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Luong District to establish a Monument Management Board consisting of 15 people, including 1 chairman, 3 vice-chairmen and 11 members.
