Recently, a man parachuted from a height of 800 m to a field in Nam Phuong Tien commune, Chuong My district and got caught on a 110kV high-voltage line.
The incident happened when the man parachuted from the top of Doi Bu 833, Nam Phuong Tien My commune (Chuong My, Hanoi ) to the fields and residential area of Nui Be hamlet in the same commune. After flying about 2 km, the parachute got stuck on a 110kV high-voltage power line.
Previously on October 20, a man parachuted from a 650 m high hill in Quang Tien commune, Hoa Binh city. When preparing to land, the parachute got caught on a 35kV power line, causing the man to hang about 20 m above the ground. Photo: GC.
The man was suspended on a high-voltage power line on the afternoon of November 9 at the Doi Bu 833 flight point. Previously, a witness said that the parachutist flew over the power line, but the wind blew the parachute back into the lightning protection wire at the highest part of the power line, nearly 30 meters above the ground, causing the man to be suspended between two bare power lines. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Photo: GC/DL.
Doi Bu flying point is about 40 km from the center of Hanoi. This is a beautiful mountain range with a gentle slope about 1.5 km long. During the Northeast monsoon season, Doi Bu is an ideal flying point with suitable weather and terrain conditions for flying high, flying long, flying far as well as organizing competitions.
The road from landing to takeoff is 6 km long, only 4WD pickup trucks can reach the takeoff point. Image recorded on the afternoon of November 13.
After the incident on November 9, the Northern Power Corporation mobilized officers, employees and specialized equipment from Hoa Binh City to the scene to rescue the victims. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Chuong My District were also dispatched to the scene. In the photo, the 110kV power line is only about 200 meters from the landing site.
A representative of the power management unit said that they had contacted the National Power System Control Center (A0) to cut off the power. This did not affect residential areas but caused a power outage at a cement factory in the area.
