Gia Lai Agricultural Extension Center guides on red tilapia farming techniques in irrigation lakes

(GLO)- On the morning of August 22, in Hoi Son commune, the Agricultural Extension Center (Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province) organized a meeting to exchange techniques on raising red tilapia in irrigation lakes towards food safety.

At the meeting, 70 aquaculture households from 3 communes of Hoi Son, Ngo May and De Gi were informed by professional staff about some practical contents such as: techniques for commercial farming of red tilapia in cages and rafts; methods for identifying and preventing some common diseases in fish; and updates on policies to support the development of cage and raft fish farming in the province.

In particular, the program also focuses on disseminating current legal regulations on aquaculture activities; thereby helping people better understand regulations on ensuring food safety, protecting the environment, and aiming to develop aquaculture in a sustainable direction.
