The UNESCO's adoption of the Resolution honoring Le Quy Don affirms the international recognition of Vietnam's scientific, cultural and educational values, contributing to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people in general and Hung Yen province in particular. According to Ambassador Nguyen Thi Van Anh, the fact that UNESCO and its member countries passed a resolution honoring Le Quy Don demonstrates global consensus on the values of peace , social equality and lifelong learning that Vietnam shares with the world.
This event is also the result of the coordinated efforts between Hung Yen province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, and domestic and international experts. The nomination dossier must meet UNESCO's strict criteria, ensuring its relevance to the organization's mission in promoting education, culture, science, information and dialogue among peoples.
It is expected that in 2026, Hung Yen province will organize many practical and meaningful commemorative activities to commemorate the nation's outstanding scientist.
