Honor and respect!

For each of us, our mother is the one who bore us, raised us, and nurtured us until we grew into adulthood. Furthermore, in today's society, there are many other types of mothers such as: Heroic Vietnamese Mothers; mothers who care for disabled or orphaned children; godmothers of underprivileged children… all of whom deserve great respect.

From time immemorial, our nation has had a tradition of valuing filial piety, so every year there are many days and holidays to honor mothers - women in general, such as: the second day of Tet (Lunar New Year), the Vu Lan Festival (the 15th day of the 7th lunar month), International Women's Day (March 8th), Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20th), honoring Vietnamese Heroic Mothers on the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27th), and other important national holidays,...

Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and inquired about the health of Heroic Vietnamese Mother Vu Thi Muoi, 99 years old, residing in Hamlet 4, Dam Doi town, Dam Doi district, and presented her with gifts.

Heroic Vietnamese Mother Doan Thi Bay, 89 years old, residing in Dan Quan hamlet, Viet Thang commune, Phu Tan district, remains optimistic, happy, and healthy. Every day, she meticulously continues her work of sewing and mending clothes.

The elderly women and mothers in the Ca Mau City Senior Citizens Club maintain their optimism and zest for life through weekly dance and song performances at the club's cultural activity center near the Provincial Museum.

Ms. Dao Thi Thanh An, President of the Women's Union of Nguyen Viet Khai commune, Phu Tan district, is one of the exemplary "Godmothers" of orphaned children due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the province.

The world also has a day to celebrate and honor mothers worldwide, which is Mother's Day. Originating in the West, this day was created to remind children of the immense debt they owe to their mothers for giving them life and raising them.

The most common Mother's Day celebration today is on the second Sunday of May each year. In 2025, Mother's Day falls on Sunday, May 11th. This is not only a day to show gratitude, filial piety, and send good wishes and loving messages to mothers, but also an opportunity to remind children and grandchildren of the sacrifices and boundless love of mothers.
