Ms. Nguyen Kim Canh (75 years old, retired cadre in Hanoi Mechanical Collective Area, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) sadly confided: "At an age when he should have been resting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong devoted himself and worked until his last breath to shoulder the people's and the country's affairs. The General Secretary's passing is an extremely great loss for the nation, the Party, his family, his homeland, and his village."

As General Secretary, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong has clearly demonstrated his role as the core leader, creating high unity in the political system, leading the country to overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving many achievements in many fields, the prestige and position of the country is increasingly high, highly appreciated by the people and international friends. In particular, thanks to the General Secretary's wisdom and determination, the fight against corruption and negativity has been effectively carried out, without any forbidden areas, bringing people's trust and support for the Party and the government.

Mr. Doan Dinh Sung, a resident of Pom Lot commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province, recalled: On July 16, 2016, he was fortunate to welcome General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to visit the Party Committee, government, and people of the commune. What remained in him and everyone about the General Secretary was his simple working style, close to the cadres and people in the commune.

After listening to the commune leaders report on the local development situation, the General Secretary listened and gave many practical instructions to the commune, emphasizing the need to ensure political security, focus on economic development, and reduce poverty for the people. In particular, during that meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always emphasized the two words "Solidarity" and hoped that by 2017, the commune would reach the new rural finish line.
