Five new public high schools under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will begin admitting students to grade 10 starting from the 2026-2027 school year.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a decision to establish five new public high schools under the Department of Education and Training. These schools will officially begin enrolling 10th-grade students in the 2026-2027 academic year, opening up thousands of opportunities for students in the city to attend public schools.

According to the decision, all five schools are educational institutions within the national education system, possessing legal personality, their own seals, and separate bank accounts.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has been tasked with organizing the administrative structure and preparing all necessary facilities to ensure readiness for the opening of the new school year.
Below is detailed information about the location and enrollment quotas for 10th grade at each school:
Le Thi Rieng Primary, Secondary and High School Head office address: No. 1 Le Thi Rieng Street, Thoi An Ward. Enrollment quota for 10th grade: 450 students.
Phan Van Hon High School Headquarters address: 38-hectare resettlement area, Dong Hung Thuan ward. Enrollment quota for 10th grade: 810 students.
Thoai Ngoc Hau High School Head office address: 70A Thoai Ngoc Hau Street, Tan Phu Ward. Enrollment quota for 10th grade: 675 students.
Ha Huy Tap High School Head office address: Plot No. 2831, Map Sheet No. 95, Nhi Dong 2 Quarter, Di An Ward. Enrollment quota for 10th grade: 720 students.
Vo Nguyen Giap High School Head office address: 8A Residential Area, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Phu My Ward. Enrollment quota for 10th grade: 675 students.
The five new schools will begin operations in the 2026-2027 school year, enrolling 3,330 students in grade 10.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 1st and 2nd. Students took three exams: Math, Literature, and English, with an additional specialized/integrated subject exam if they registered for that program.
High schools in Thanh An island commune and Con Dao special zone select students for 10th grade based on their academic records.
This year, the city has over 169,600 junior high school graduates. Of the more than 151,300 candidates who registered for the public high school entrance exam, approximately 118,000 passed.
