On the morning of April 25 in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City, the opening ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025 and the inauguration ceremony of Binh Tan Book Street organized by the Department of Culture - Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committee of Binh Tan District took place in the exciting atmosphere of the whole people celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, attracting a large number of writers, researchers and book lovers.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day and the inauguration of Binh Tan Book Street, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy affirmed: "The publishing industry in particular and the development of reading culture in the city in general have made strong developments, achieved many outstanding results, demonstrated a pioneering and creative role, and become a highlight in cultural life. Thereby, contributing to the widespread dissemination of reading culture, building the culture of Ho Chi Minh City people, and at the same time actively contributing to the development of the economy , services, and tourism, towards the goal of building Ho Chi Minh City into a destination for attractive and highly appealing events".

Outstanding activities at Binh Tan Book Street

This year's Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Ho Chi Minh City (held from April 19 to May 2) will focus on April 25 to 27 at Binh Tan Book Street, Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, Thu Duc City Book Street, Cu Chi District Book Space and 21 districts, in schools and armed forces with more than 300 activities and events (an increase of 60 activities and events) compared to 2024.

The organization of the welcoming book fair and the peak activities at Binh Tan Book Street is one of the highlights of the 4th City-level Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day. This is one of the typical emulation works of the city's publishing industry to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification.

Many exchange programs and book launches: Reading the history of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City in one breath ; From Ben Hai River to Independence Palace ; 100 years of Tan Son Nhat airport took place on this occasion; along with many activities displaying, exhibiting documents and publications on the theme of Ho Chi Minh Campaign - Symbol of revolutionary heroism , introducing the postage stamp set of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign on Vietnamese and world postage stamps.
