On the morning of October 23rd, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap and An Giang provinces, and travel agencies, officially launched the tour "Proud of the Landmarks of the Border Region". This is also the city's first tourism product that uses border markers as the central destination.
This activity is part of a tourism development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta region. The goal is to promote historical values, educate about patriotic traditions, and open up a type of heritage tourism linked to national borders.
The trip lasts 3 days and 2 nights, taking tourists from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Thap and An Giang provinces. These two provinces have many border markers between Vietnam and Cambodia.
In Dong Thap, the delegation visited border marker 232 (Dinh Ba International Border Gate), border marker 235 (Moc Ra), and border marker 240 (Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate) - important locations marking the national border in the southwestern region.

In An Giang, the journey continues with milestones 275 (Tinh Bien), 301 (Giang Thanh), and 313-314 (Ha Tien International Border Gate), where the Hau River meanders along the border, and the red flag with a yellow star flies proudly amidst the border landscape.
Besides visiting the border marker, tourists can also experience local culture through Tinh Bien market, the traditional craft villages of the Cham people, the Mac Cuu mausoleum in Ha Tien, enjoy local specialties, interact with border guards, and learn about the lives of people in the border region.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said: "The 'Proud of Border Region Landmarks' tour is a meaningful activity that contributes to educating patriotism, arousing national pride and a sense of responsibility to protect national border sovereignty among the people, especially the younger generation."

According to a representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the launch of the "milestone tour" is part of a tourism development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, contributing to diversifying products and promoting domestic tourism in a sustainable and culturally rich direction.
Local authorities unanimously agreed to strengthen investment in infrastructure, ports, and rest stops in border areas; and at the same time, encourage travel businesses to develop experiential products, bringing students and overseas Vietnamese back to visit their homeland and learn about national sovereignty.

During the tour, visitors will hear border guards share their experiences in protecting border markers, patrolling the border, and living in the riverine region. These are not just stories about their profession, but also practical lessons about patriotism and dedication.
