As part of the festival, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union is organizing an online photo contest of beautiful ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) in 2026 with the theme "Vietnamese Ao Dai with the proud mark of 50 years of the city named after President Ho Chi Minh".
The contest, held from February 6th to February 25th, attracted 5,067 entries, including 4,189 individual photos and 878 group photos. The entries not only celebrated the beauty of the ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) but also showcased many historical sites and cultural landmarks of the city.

Another highlight was the "Elegant Ao Dai" contest, with the participation of 29 teams from 16 emulation clusters of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union. Each team had between 25 and 150 contestants, who invested heavily in costumes, staging, and formation practice.
The organizers expect the competition to become a highlight of the festival, contributing to honoring the graceful and elegant beauty of Vietnamese women in traditional ao dai dresses.

The event attracted more than 58,000 participants across the city.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, said that the activities within the framework of the festival not only honor the value of the ao dai but also contribute to arousing pride in the traditions of Vietnamese women.
According to Ms. Truc, from the heroic spirit of the Trung Sisters' uprising, through thousands of years of history, many generations of Vietnamese women have continued the tradition of patriotism, resilience in struggle, perseverance in labor, and made important contributions to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
