Ho Chi Minh City organizes a special friendly football match to raise 2 billion VND to support the Cuban people.

VHO - At Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC) on the afternoon of September 26, a meaningful friendly football match took place between the HCMC Civil Servants and Civil Servants team and the HCMC Artists team.

The event was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

The organizers presented flowers and souvenirs to the players of both teams before the match.

Attending the match were Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada - Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, along with many officials, civil servants, artists and fans.

In his opening speech, Mr. Tran The Thuan - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said that the friendly football match between the team of officials, civil servants and the city's artists took place in a friendly and exciting atmosphere, to welcome the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term and to celebrate 50 years of the city's literature and arts since the country's reunification.

The event not only created an interesting sports playground, connecting civil servants and artists, but also an opportunity to mobilize support for the Cuban people in the program "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship".

This humanitarian activity demonstrates the solidarity, friendship and loyalty between the people of Vietnam and Cuba.

The Ho Chi Minh City Civil Servants and Officials Team included Lieutenant General Mai Hoang - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Hoang Ngan, Ha Phuoc Thang, Cao Van Chong, etc.

Although a sudden heavy rain fell on Thong Nhat Stadium during the match, it did not dampen the spirit and determination of the players. Both teams played enthusiastically and fiercely but with a noble sportsmanship.

As a result, the HCM City Civil Servants team won with a score of 2-1. The match ended with a shared joy when the fundraising activity received 2 billion VND to support the Cuban people.
