Taking place over three days, the Nghinh Ong Can Gio Festival consists of both ceremonial and festive parts.
The ceremonial part was held solemnly with rituals such as: the visit to the Rung Sac Can Gio Martyrs' Cemetery; the ceremony honoring the fishermen; the raising of the festival's main flag; the Nghinh Ong ceremony at sea... all organized according to traditional customs and rituals.
The festival includes cultural, sporting , and artistic activities that attract a large number of locals and tourists.
The festival reflects the spiritual life of the coastal residents, affirming the historical and cultural value and strategic role of Can Gio in the cause of national defense and development. Within the festival space, propaganda content about maritime sovereignty , marine economic development, mangrove forest conservation, and the world biosphere reserve is presented in a vivid and visually engaging manner.
