TP - Travel demand during the April 30 and May 1 holidays is forecast to increase, putting pressure on traffic hubs and gateway areas. Ho Chi Minh City has made plans to ensure smooth travel for residents and tourists during the upcoming holidays.

According to the reporter's records, currently, traffic infrastructure projects at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City such as An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City), Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection (District 7), Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road (Tan Son Nhat airport gateway area, Tan Binh District), are in the peak construction phase to speed up progress.

During rush hour every day, the above areas are always crowded, often experiencing congestion.

An Phu traffic intersection (Thu Duc City), at the eastern gateway, is the intersection of many main roads such as Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway - Mai Chi Tho road - Vo Nguyen Giap road, so traffic is always crowded. Currently, the intersection area is under construction of underpasses, overpasses..., some sections of the road are narrowed by construction barriers, causing this area to be frequently congested during rush hour.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Quyen (residing in Thu Duc City) said: "Since the construction of the intersection, traffic congestion has become more serious, especially during rush hour."
