The provincial-level competition for excellent secondary and high school teachers in the 2024-2025 school year took place from February 24th to March 15th, 2025. 424 teachers participated in two parts of the competition: practical teaching demonstration and presentation of teaching methods. As a result, 383 teachers won provincial-level awards for excellent teaching. Of these, 121 teachers won first prize (A), 142 teachers won second prize (B), and 120 teachers won third prize (C).
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, Tran Tuan Khanh, assessed: “Most lessons demonstrated meticulous planning, effective organization of learning activities, and conditions for students to actively acquire knowledge and develop their abilities. The application of information technology and appropriate teaching equipment became an important factor, enhancing the visual and lively nature of each lesson. In particular, the proactive and flexible teaching methods of many teachers truly fostered the active, proactive, and creative participation of students, contributing to the formation of comprehensive qualities and competencies for learners in accordance with the spirit of the 2018 General Education Program.”
The competition for excellent teachers at all levels contributes to improving the overall quality of education.
Ms. Doan Thi Nhan (a teacher at Le Van Duyet Secondary School, Tinh Bien Town) shared her sincere feelings about the noble teaching profession and the significance of the competition. For her, each lesson is a labor of love and meticulous preparation; the competition is an opportunity to reflect, evaluate, and improve herself. "My greatest wish, and that of my colleagues, is not only to impart knowledge but also to help students develop comprehensively in terms of character and life skills. The competition is truly a valuable opportunity for teachers to showcase their abilities, exchange ideas, learn, and improve their professional skills, thereby dedicating themselves fully to the noble cause of educating future generations," Ms. Nhan expressed.
Along with the provincial-level competition for excellent teachers, the competition for excellent homeroom teachers at the primary school level also affirms its importance and necessity. Society today faces many challenges (social evils, traffic safety, and school violence, etc.), making the role of homeroom teachers even more crucial. Close cooperation between schools and families, along with the exemplary behavior and communication skills of teachers, contributes to building a healthy and civilized educational environment, minimizing negative impacts on students' development. Continued investment in and improvement of professional development for teachers is necessary, especially in skills such as resolving pedagogical situations, classroom management, and building friendly and close relationships with students.
The competition for outstanding homeroom teachers at the primary school level took place from February 18th to March 20th, with the participation of 165 teachers. As a result, 158 teachers won awards. Mr. Vo Van Quoi, Head of the Preschool and Primary Education Department, acknowledged the serious and creative investment of the homeroom teachers through the practical and situational problem-solving sections of the competition. The entries clearly demonstrated pedagogical skills, the ability to skillfully solve real-world problems, along with effective educational initiatives and methods, creating a disciplined yet loving classroom environment.
The results of the excellent teacher competitions are a well-deserved recognition of the teachers' efforts and a great source of motivation for the entire education sector in An Giang to continue striving to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
