Respect for the contributions of comrade Tran Duc Luong to the country and people

Despite the heavy rain, police, military, union members and youth of Hanoi were on duty at the National Funeral House (5 Tran Thanh Tong) from 6am on May 24 to maintain security and order, and direct traffic for the funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong.

From early morning, many delegations of leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches and provinces and cities attended the funeral of formerPresident Tran Duc Luong.

Hanoi city's functional forces and student volunteers were on duty to ensure organization and service at locations around the National Funeral House and surrounding roads.

Major Pham Duc Ngoc, Deputy Chief of Pham Dinh Ho Ward Police (Hai Ba Trung District) said that the unit has arranged forces on duty and developed security plans to best serve the State Funeral.

"Pham Dinh Ho Ward Police closely coordinated with functional forces to participate in traffic control, protection and security and order during the two days of the National Funeral," Major Ngoc affirmed.

On duty at the National Funeral House from 6am, comrade Bui Van An, soldier of Company 2 of the Mobile Police Department, Hanoi City Police, said that his unit was assigned to be on duty at the checkpoints of Nguyen Cong Tru and Tran Thanh Tong streets to serve the National Funeral.

"Although it was raining heavily, from early morning, all the brothers in the unit still ensured full duty and seriously carried out their duties," said comrade Bui Van An.

Mr. Le Van Kien, from the University of Industrial Economics and Technology, said that nearly 60 lecturers, union members, and students of the school participated in supporting the functional forces in organizing traffic coordination as well as supporting the funeral organizing committee in performing additional tasks if necessary.

"This is an important task, so the school has instructed all assigned personnel to be very serious, be on time, and make efforts to complete all tasks assigned by the funeral organizing committee," said Mr. Le Van Kien.

Mr. Le Van Kien shared that he and the lecturers and students were very honored to participate in the National Funeral. "When reading the biography of former President Tran Duc Luong, we were deeply moved by his contributions to the people and the country. His strategic decisions in the hydroelectric and oil and gas sectors and his historic decisions, such as building an oil pipeline from Bach Ho field to the mainland, stood out."

The strategic decisions made by comrade Tran Duc Luong during his tenure in important positions in the country have actively contributed to the development of the oil and gas and hydroelectric industries of our country, thereby contributing to socio-economic development, improving people's lives, and gradually bringing our country to a level comparable to other countries in the region.
