These days, the weather in comrade Tran Duc Luong's hometown in Dien Truong village (Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province) is as hot as fire. When asked about formerPresident Tran Duc Luong, many farmers in Dien Truong village expressed their condolences and looked forward to his coffin returning to rest in his hometown.
Mr. Tran Van Hoa (68 years old, Dien Truong village) said: In his hometown, many farmers have long been grateful to Mr. Tran Duc Luong. Thanks to his care, Dien Truong reservoir and irrigation canals were invested in, providing irrigation water and clean water to drought-stricken villages in Pho Khanh and Pho Cuong communes.
Since the upgrading of Dien Truong Lake, several decades ago, the villages have never had to worry about water shortages, and every season has had a bumper crop. Now that he has passed away and has chosen to rest in his hometown, we are looking forward to his return so that we can pay our respects and see him off on his final journey.
Hearing the news of former President Tran Duc Luong's passing, Mr. Huynh Quy, former Secretary of the Duc Pho District Party Committee (now Duc Pho Town), was moved to say: Even though I know life has birth and death, I was still very sad to hear that Uncle Tran Duc Luong had passed away. Mr. Quy still clearly remembers the times he worked and reported on the local development situation with former President Tran Duc Luong.
Among them, Mr. Quy was most impressed by the first time when he was reporting on the local socio -economic situation and data, former President Tran Duc Luong interrupted him, his voice kind: "Quy, what report is close to the people, how is life now, what do people need in the future?"
Mr. Huynh Quy said that what is worth learning from comrade Tran Duc Luong is his simple, approachable personality and always putting the common good first. "He always told us that we need to use public investment resources in the right place, in the right place so that every penny spent is truly effective," Mr. Quy recounted.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, former Party Secretary, former Chairman of Pho Khanh Commune People's Committee (2000-2005) said: In the past, every time he returned to his hometown, Mr. Tran Duc Luong was very concerned about the socio-economic development of his hometown. He encouraged and guided the locality to pay attention to investing in and upgrading Dien Truong irrigation reservoir. When the reservoir was filled with water, he advised expanding the irrigation system to the people's fields, exploiting more clean water from this reservoir. Thanks to that, up to now, the whole region has 300-400 hectares of rice benefiting from Dien Truong reservoir, with 2-3 bumper crops each year.

Recalling his time working as the manager of Pho Khanh commune, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho emotionally said that former President Tran Duc Luong always visited and followed up on the living conditions of his hometown people.

Thanks to that, up to now, almost all of our commune's key cadres and leaders have university or college degrees,” said Mr. Tho.
According to Duc Pho Town Party Secretary Do Tam Hien, every time he visited and worked with the locality, comrade Tran Duc Luong often gave very detailed instructions on promoting the principle of being close to the people, all for the goal of making people's lives more prosperous, happy, and modern... Hearing the news of his passing, every cadre and citizen of Duc Pho town respectfully bowed their heads to bid him farewell. Remembering his advice, the Party Committee, government, and people of Duc Pho town vowed to unite and overcome all difficulties to build a rich, civilized, and affectionate homeland.
Mr. Pham Dinh Khoi, former Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee (term 2005-2010), recalled: When I was Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, I and comrade Tran Duc Luong walked up An Mountain by the Tra River and were instructed by the former President to pay attention to preserving and embellishing valuable relics such as Thien An Pagoda and Huynh Thuc Khang's tomb.
