Throughout her more than 30-year journey of building and developing the BRG Group and SeABank, businesswoman Nguyen Thi Nga has been honored with the First-Class Labor Medal and many other prestigious titles and awards. "For me, the title of National Emulation Fighter is a source of motivation for me to contribute and share with the community even more," the businesswoman shared.

For the Vietnamese business community, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga is known not only as the Chairwoman of BRG Group and the founding Chairwoman of SeABank ( Southeast Asia Commercial Bank). For many years now, she has also served as the Vice President of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association (VAWE).

Back in December 2022, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga represented the Vietnamese women entrepreneurs community at the Global Council for Women conference held in Tokyo, Japan. The program was attended by leaders from many countries, including the Prime Minister of the host country.

Even now, Ms. Nga still feels the same sense of pride at being chosen to speak at the forum and the Conference of Japanese Women Entrepreneurs. Vietnam's continuous rise in gender equality rankings, as well as the strong development of the Vietnamese women entrepreneur community in recent years, is the result of practical, timely, and thorough policies, legal frameworks, and training and management development programs that the Party, State, and Government have dedicated specifically to women.

BRG Group was honored to receive the First Prize in the category "Gender Equality through Community Participation and Partnerships" at the Women's Empowerment Awards (WEPs 2021).

As a national delegate at the Conference, Ms. Nga chose to speak about Vietnam's efforts in gender equality and the progress Vietnamese women have made. In particular, the progress in policies supporting women-owned businesses in Vietnam has received high praise from the international community.

The corporation also implements many internal support programs such as training, assistance, and care for female workers and staff, especially those facing difficulties.

In its programs supporting the community of female entrepreneurs, BRG collaborates with major financial institutions such as IFC, DFC, and ADB… to provide credit support to businesses owned by women.

As of April 2023, over 20% of businesses in Vietnam were owned by women, and over 51% of Vietnamese businesses had women in their ownership structure—a rate comparable to developed economies such as Singapore, France, and Sweden. Furthermore, many reputable global organizations have ranked Vietnam among the leading countries in empowering women and promoting gender equality. Numerous policies and programs supporting women-owned businesses have been implemented, focusing on the National Strategy on Gender Equality and the Law on Gender Equality.

As the leader of the BRG Group, businesswoman Nguyen Thi Nga is also extremely proud to have built a strong team with 22,000 employees, of which 60% are female staff and 50% are women in senior leadership positions, and notably, the head of the company is also a woman.
