Photo exhibition about Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen

(To Quoc) - On the morning of March 24th, the Quang Binh General Museum, in collaboration with Luong The Vinh High School (Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province), organized the opening of a thematic exhibition "Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen - Life and Career," showcasing historical documents and images about the life and revolutionary career of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen, an outstanding son of Quang Binh province and a talented general of the Truong Son Army.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the opening of the exhibition "Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen - Life and Career".

This is a practical activity to celebrate the country's major holidays in 2025, to express gratitude for the immense contributions of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen to the Vietnamese revolution; it is also an opportunity to educate the younger generation about revolutionary ideals, patriotic traditions, and national pride, and to encourage them to emulate the revolutionary predecessors in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen (1923-2019) was born in Quang Trung commune, Quang Trach district (now Ba Don town). His life and career were closely linked to glorious victories in the two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism. He was a strategic and talented general with many glorious achievements, living a life of unwavering loyalty and camaraderie with his comrades. We remember him as a leader who was steadfast in his principles and stance, while also constantly pondering, exploring, and innovating in response to the new developments of reality.

The exhibition is divided into four sections: Homeland and Family; The Legacy of the Truong Son- Ho Chi Minh Trail in the "land of fire" Quang Binh; Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen with Party and State leaders and his diplomatic activities; and Love for Homeland and Comradeship.

He was also a shining example of revolutionary ethics, dedication, and absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people; of integrity, simplicity, humility, and close ties with the people; of wholeheartedly loving and sacrificing for comrades and fellow citizens; of deep affection for his homeland; of tirelessly striving to build national unity; with a sincere, open attitude, and a compassionate and respectful demeanor…

Teacher Tran Thanh Hai, Principal of Luong The Vinh High School, shared: "The vivid photographs of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen have inspired students, helping them deeply understand patriotism, resilience, and the will to strive for the homeland. The historical values ​​and heroic traditions shown through the exhibition will be a motivation for students to emulate and cultivate themselves to become responsible and enthusiastic citizens."

"The school also hopes to have more exhibitions with themes about culture, history, etc., to contribute to nurturing the soul, building national pride, and inspiring the younger generation, while affirming the role of education in connecting the past with the future," teacher Tran Thanh Hai expressed his wish.

Many students from Luong The Vinh High School emotionally shared: "Through each historical photograph, we students clearly feel the values ​​of sacrifice, courage, and solidarity of previous generations in the cause of protecting and building the nation. This is the sacred responsibility of each person, of today's young generation. Besides that, the exhibition helps us understand the historical heritage of our nation, thereby fostering pride and awareness of preserving the precious cultural and historical values ​​of our country."

Nearly 2000 students, teachers, and parents visited the exhibition on Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen - Life and Career.

We, the younger generation, will strive to improve ourselves, learning from shining examples of loyalty, perseverance, and resilience. This is a valuable lesson that will help students not only succeed in their studies but also develop strong character. When we understand the value of the past and the sacrifices of previous generations, it motivates us to work harder in our studies, contribute positively to society, and become responsible and enthusiastic citizens for the future of our country.
