This is one of the activities carried out by various units to respond to the launching ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in 2026, commemorating the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).
Speaking at the program, Mr. Tran Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cai Ngang commune, emphasized: The trees planted in the locality have long-term significance for socio-economic development and environmental protection. The locality will organize the care and protection of the trees through practical actions. The program, held on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, will also raise community awareness about the role of trees in environmental protection and climate change adaptation, especially promoting the tree-planting movement initiated by President Ho Chi Minh.

Participating in this program, the Vietnam Bamboo Development Fund has supported the provision of hundreds of bamboo seedlings (Dang Nga and Manh Tong varieties). These bamboo varieties are valuable for their environmental, landscape, and historical and traditional educational value , while also contributing to spreading the message of environmental protection, landslide prevention, climate change adaptation, and sustainable livelihood development for local people.
As part of the program, local units and residents planted and cared for more than 1,550 trees of various types and 350 bamboo trees along the roads in the commune, including the grounds of the Cai Ngang Revolutionary Historical Relic Site.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Chairman of the Vietnam Bamboo Development Fund, said: “Bamboo is not only a cultural symbol associated with the resilient spirit of the Vietnamese people, but also a sustainable solution for environmental protection. Partnering with the local community to plant bamboo at the Cai Ngang Revolutionary Historical Site has special significance in spreading green values, preserving traditions, and creating long-term livelihoods for the community.”

Mr. Phan Minh Chanh, Head of the Liaison Committee of the Tam Binh Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "The activity of planting trees, especially bamboo species along the embankments and riverside areas, not only contributes to creating a green landscape but also helps maintain the stability of soil and water resources and protect the local natural resources. The collective effort to protect the environment and natural ecosystem needs to be spread more strongly within the community, especially among today's young generation."
Besides launching tree planting activities, the program also organized the Cai Ngang Traditional Cake and Local Cuisine Festival with the participation of associations, organizations and local people, contributing to promoting the beauty of traditional culture and strengthening community cohesion.
