"The two factors that make the 32nd SEA Games a success are the Opening Ceremony and the high-quality technical competition venues. For the Opening Ceremony, we must organize it in an unprecedented grand manner and at the Olympic level, not at the regional level like other countries have done," said CAMSOC Secretary General Vath Chamroeun.

The opening ceremony will begin with a performance titled “The Origin of Khmer” which will kick off the journey of the region's largest sporting event. The opening will be followed by three interconnected performances: The Glory of Angkor (part 1); The Smile of Khmer (part 2) and The Future of Khmer (part 3).

The opening ceremony will be marked by a song titled “Cambodian Pride”. Four famous artists from the host country, Preap Sovath, Khemarak Sereymun, Khum, Ton Chanseyma and a choir of more than 2,000 people will perform the official song of the 32nd SEA Games. The ceremony will feature a martial arts duel between Kun Bokator (Cambodian martial arts) and Shaolin from China.

The Cambodian organizers are keeping the opening ceremony a secret. About 1,000 actors will attend the opening ceremony, and all footage of the rehearsal is guaranteed not to be leaked.

According to Tien Phong newspaper's investigation, only a few tickets belong to fans who registered early, the rest are for guests and those arranged by the Organizing Committee in the stands to serve the performance.

On the evening of May 3, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen himself sent a voice message explaining the issue. He said: “Morodok Techo Stadium can only accommodate a maximum of 70,000 people, while the number of registrations is up to half a million. We want everyone to participate, but we are powerless. We hope our compatriots understand.”
