According to Tuoi Tre Online 's report on May 31st, most gas stations have completed the replacement of conventional gasoline, while some consumers remain cautious.

Take advantage of the time to fill up the tank before the conversion deadline.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Phu, a resident of Nhieu Loc ward, said he had asked a gas station attendant to fill his motorbike's tank two days ago. "I heard that from June 1st, they will completely switch to E10 fuel, so I took the opportunity to fill it up beforehand," he said.

According to Mr. Phu, in recent days he has been frequently monitoring car and motorcycle forums to read the experiences shared by people who have used E10.

The emergence of conflicting opinions on social media has also made him hesitant. "Well, as long as we can still use gasoline, we'll just have to make do with it," he said.

A similar sentiment was also evident in many social media groups. Posts asking for the addresses of gas stations still selling A95, RON95, or RON97 in the final days before the conversion received a significant amount of interaction.

However, many argue that stockpiling is unnecessary because the transition has been prepared in advance and E10 is considered compatible with most vehicles currently in circulation. Some also note the need to strictly adhere to fire safety regulations when storing fuel at home.

Gas stations are ready to stock E10 gasoline.

According to Tuoi Tre Online 's report on May 31st, Petrolimex gas stations on many central streets in Ho Chi Minh City, such as Le Van Sy, Truong Dinh, Dien Bien Phu, and Hai Ba Trung, have added information boards related to E10 gasoline in preparation for the complete transition tomorrow (June 1st).

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. D.TB, manager of a gas station on Phan Dang Luu Street (Ho Chi Minh City), said that the transition to E10 gasoline at her station had been underway since mid-May. By May 21st, most of the important items had been completed.

"Preparations began in early April. We had to calculate inventory levels, new import plans, the timing of selling off remaining gasoline, and related inventory procedures," she said.

According to Ms. D.TB, customer traffic at sales points remains stable. While a small number of consumers have asked questions or expressed concerns about the new fuel, there haven't been any strong reactions like those circulating on social media.

"Most customers still come to refuel as usual, and there aren't any tense reactions like 'shaking the car after refueling' as seen online," she said.

Another manager at a Petrolimex store on Tran Cao Van Street (Ho Chi Minh City) also stated that the transition process went relatively smoothly, with no significant difficulties arising regarding supply sources or operational techniques.

According to this source, the store completed the transition to E10 gasoline on May 28th as planned by the company. To date, the amount of conventional gasoline at many sales points in the system has also been almost completely processed to facilitate inventory and conversion.

Many gas station owners say that the number of customers choosing E10 is gradually increasing as gas stations stop selling conventional gasoline.

Businesses expect consumers to embrace new types of fuel due to their ability to reduce emissions and be more environmentally friendly.

What do experts advise?

Regarding the controversies surrounding the use of E10 bioethanol fuel, Associate Professor Dr. Do Van Dung - chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Automobile and Power Equipment Association - advises consumers to prioritize choosing reputable gas stations with high sales volume.

According to Mr. Dung, gas stations with a fast fuel turnover rate will limit the amount of fuel that remains in storage tanks for too long, thereby reducing the risk of the fuel absorbing moisture. "In the provinces, where gas stations have low sales volumes, the fuel sits in the tanks longer, so the likelihood of absorbing moisture and water is also higher," he explained.

However, Mr. Dung emphasized that these are only risk mitigation measures in the current context. Essentially, the greatest responsibility still lies with the fuel management system and storage infrastructure.
