Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of August 2nd, a representative from the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, stated that after receiving feedback, the Department of Higher Education reminded universities to review and strictly adhere to the admissions regulations.
At the same time, schools have a responsibility to be socially accountable and to respond to the information reflected in the press.
Previously, Tuoi Tre Online reported that some universities in the South had sent text messages and even letters inviting candidates to enroll even before the official university entrance exam date for 2025.
These include universities such as Hong Bang International University, Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Dinh University, and Van Hien University.
Specifically, on the afternoon of July 30th, many candidates received a message from Hong Bang International University with the following content: "Hong Bang International University congratulates candidate: Full name NLTN, application code… has been admitted to Hong Bang International University. Please see the admission notice attached to the email or check the notice here (link included)."
Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City sent the following notification to the candidate: "Based on the candidate's application for admission based on academic transcripts and scholarship, Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City respectfully congratulates candidate… who has met the eligibility requirements for admission based on academic transcripts and scholarship for the regular undergraduate program in the major…".
Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City invites candidates to one of its two campuses to complete the registration procedures: Phu Lam Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (registration from July 11th to July 20th) or An Nhon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (registration from July 16th to July 20th).
Van Hien University sent emails to many candidates informing them that they had met the admission requirements and only needed to pay 3 million VND to receive tuition support...
Candidates should not be required to confirm their enrollment before August 22nd.
According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, early admissions will no longer be conducted this year. From August 16th to 20th, the Ministry of Education and Training will process admission applications through the common admissions system (virtual filtering).
Universities are expected to announce the first round of admission scores starting at 5 PM on August 20th, with the deadline before 5 PM on August 22nd. Before 5 PM on August 30th, candidates must complete the enrollment confirmation on the system if they wish to study there (including those admitted directly).
According to the 2025 university admissions guidelines, the Ministry of Education and Training requires educational institutions not to ask candidates to confirm their enrollment or to enroll before August 22nd, and not to end the enrollment confirmation period before August 30th.
