Specifically, the highest benchmark score belongs to Medicine with 25.55 points (last year 26.57 points). The sectors with the lowest benchmark scores are Public Health and Nutrition with 18 points each.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine this year recruits more than 1,900 students, using two methods: direct admission and considering high school graduation exam scores. In the case of many candidates with the same admission score, the secondary criteria is the order of preference, followed by the high school graduation exam score in Mathematics.

In addition to the traditional combinations B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology), B03 (Math, Literature, Biology), A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), this year candidates can use 2 combinations with English subjects: A01 (Math, Physics, English) and B08 (Math, Biology, English) to apply to the school.

The school notes that it does not use the results of exemption from foreign language exams in the high school graduation exam, and does not convert international certificates into English scores to include in the admission combination.

In 2025, the number of candidates and registration wishes both increased sharply. Nationwide, there were more than 7.6 million registered wishes, accounting for more than 73% of the total number of candidates. On average, each candidate registered nearly 9 wishes. The number of candidates registering for admission also skyrocketed by more than 115,000 compared to 2024, partly due to vocational colleges participating in the common admission system.

The benchmark score is more difficult to predict than previous years, which is the general opinion of many universities in this year's virtual filtering process, due to major changes in the way it is organized and implemented.
