Recruiting lecturers with competitive salaries.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has just posted a recruitment announcement for 2025 for lecturer positions in the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering.
The person recruited for this position will be responsible for teaching and training at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; conducting scientific research, leading/participating in research projects, and publishing international scientific papers. Notably, this recruitment announcement includes a very competitive compensation package: state salary, position-based salary, holiday benefits, bonuses, and other support programs.
Specifically, PhD holders with less than 3 years of experience have an average monthly income of 35 million VND, while those with 3 years or more of experience earn 45 million VND per month. Professors and associate professors have an average monthly income of up to 85 million VND. These competitive salaries do not include special incentives for fields such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuit design, and quantum computing.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology also offers a program to support scientific research for faculty members, including: opportunities to lead research projects, participate in large-scale projects and international collaborations; support for publications in international journals, intellectual property rights, etc.; support and development programs for research groups: workspace and research facilities; support for participation in conferences/seminars; support for recruiting researchers and doctoral students; financial support for international collaborations; investment in facilities and equipment, etc.
Besides lecturer positions, the university is also recruiting teaching assistants for this department, with candidates holding bachelor's or master's degrees. The average salary, including the government-mandated salary and benefits, is over 15-16 million VND per month (excluding year-end bonuses).
What are the eligibility requirements for candidates?
For the lecturer position, candidates must have a Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (candidates with a PhD and a degree from a foreign university are preferred). In addition, candidates must be able to teach and conduct research in English. English proficiency must be at least B2 level (or have graduated from a foreign university with a thesis/dissertation written in English). Candidates must also have the capacity to conduct research, publish international scientific papers, and lead scientific research projects at various levels.
For the teaching assistant position, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is recruiting candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of computer science and information technology, mathematics, or related fields. Regarding foreign language proficiency, candidates must be able to use at least one foreign language in their field of expertise (from English, French, Russian, German, or Chinese). Teaching assistants should also have a bachelor's degree with excellent grades or a master's degree with good grades, or sufficient practical experience to perform teaching assistant duties.
Previously, at a seminar on the VNU350 Program: Attracting, Retaining, and Developing Outstanding Young Scientists, the Rector of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, speaking at the VNU350 program last February, stated that in addition to the general support policies of the VNU350 program, the university also has its own policies to attract and retain talent.
