It is because of these milestones that Nguyen Hue Flower Street, the Spring Flower Festival at Tao Dan Park, the Tet Book Street Festival, and the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street have been nominated for the selection of 50 outstanding events and activities of our city from 1975 to 2025.
Tet is filled with flowers at Nguyen Hue Flower Street and the Spring Flower Festival at Tao Dan Park.
Thirty-four years have passed since the first milestone in the Lunar New Year of 1981, when the Ho Chi Minh City Spring Flower Festival was successfully organized, thus creating a unique cultural event that the city's residents look forward to every spring.
This event is considered a highly creative showcase, representing the pinnacle of Vietnam's ornamental plant industry.
Through the spring flower festival, the value of the labor of those who work in flower and ornamental plant cultivation is honored.
In a park as lush and green as Tao Dan in the heart of the city, when spring arrives, people eagerly make plans to meet at the spring flower festival.
The feeling of strolling leisurely through the "lungs of the city," admiring the newest, most beautiful, and most unique flowers and ornamental plants during Tet (Lunar New Year) is an unforgettable image for those living in the city and visitors from afar.
Besides the Spring Flower Festival at Tao Dan Park, Nguyen Hue Flower Street is considered an indispensable destination for people every spring.
The Nguyen Hue Flower Street, planned and reorganized by the city from the Nguyen Hue Spring Flower Market, is organized and decorated every Lunar New Year and stretches over 700 meters from in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters and the statue of President Ho Chi Minh to Bach Dang Wharf.
For the past 22 years, Nguyen Hue Flower Street has always been eagerly awaited by city residents and tourists alike, who come to admire its beauty and celebrate the spring season.
Ms. Thuy Le, a resident of District 11, said that every Tet holiday, no matter how busy her family is, they always make sure to visit Nguyen Hue Flower Street together.
She shared that the beauty of the flower street changes every year, reflecting the unique identity of Ho Chi Minh City and providing many spaces for entertainment, relaxation, and taking souvenir photos for the public.
"For the past 22 years, Nguyen Hue Flower Street has become a cultural landmark of the city during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).
The beauty of the flower street each year affirms the city's leadership in exploring and creating elaborate mascot models and landscape designs with beautiful flowers, thus enabling the expansion and improvement of the flower street's quality year after year.
"It is thanks to the city's efforts that Nguyen Hue Flower Street has been able to maintain itself for more than 20 years now, a truly remarkable journey," Ms. Thuy Le expressed.

A tireless journey to improve reading culture.
Over the years, Ho Chi Minh City has always paid attention to and cared for the cultural and spiritual activities of its people. This includes focusing on preserving and developing the habit of reading, fostering a love of books, and promoting a reading culture.
The annual Tet Book Street Festival, as well as the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street (Nguyen Van Binh Street, District 1), are considered vivid examples of this.
Ho Chi Minh City Book Street is Vietnam's first integrated book street. It brings together many bookstores from across the country in an open space where visitors can freely browse and read books.
Mr. Nguyen Tot, a resident of District 3, affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City's Book Street has become a familiar destination for book lovers.
Besides contributing to the development of the publishing industry and the promotion of reading culture, the city's Book Street is also a cultural destination for those who like to find peace and tranquility right in the heart of the bustling city.

City residents and tourists come to Book Street not only to buy books, but also to relax, work, or enjoy cultural and artistic activities.
Mr. Tot emphasized: "The fact that the Book Street has become one of the 50 attractive destinations in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta in 2024 proves that this is a place that tourists cannot miss whenever they come to the city."
Besides the Book Street, the Tet Book Street Festival has become a unique reading culture event that has taken place annually for over a decade.

The Tet Book Street Festival has become one of the typical cultural activities, contributing to raising awareness of the value of books, while creating an attractive space for enjoying knowledge and art.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , poet Vo Manh Hao said that the festival has contributed to creating an additional cultural space, a healthy and beneficial place for recreation for city residents and tourists during the Lunar New Year season.
Mr. Hao expressed: "Especially in the last two years, I've been impressed with the 'Book Giveaway' activity at the festival. This not only signifies a gift given to visitors on the first day of the new year, but also serves as a thank you and a wish for good luck from the organizers and publishing and distribution units to the readers."
This initiative has contributed to establishing the custom of giving books as Tet gifts among city residents, with the hope that this will become a unique and beautiful cultural tradition, spreading a love of books to the public."
