Lam Dong Avocado Promotion Week in Ho Chi Minh City

(Lam Dong Online) - In order to promote the consumption of agricultural products and create more opportunities for farmers, from April 24th to May 7th, MM Mega Market supermarket system, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, launched the Lam Dong Avocado Promotion Week.

Representatives from MM Mega Market Vietnam and Ms. Nguyen Thuy Quy Tu, Head of the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development, signed an agreement to participate in the "Responsible Green Tick" program.

This is one of the concrete actions aimed at promoting the consumption of agricultural products in the highlands in general and Lam Dong province in particular , an area currently facing significant challenges due to fluctuating prices and rising transportation costs.

Accordingly, during the week, two famous avocado varieties from Lam Dong – the Hass avocado and the Booth avocado – were heavily discounted by up to 50%, now priced at only 35,000 – 55,000 VND/kg, bringing high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products closer to consumers in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event provides an opportunity for businesses and cooperatives involved in the production, processing, and trading of agricultural products in Lam Dong province to exchange, discuss, share information, and seek partners such as distributors, supermarket chains, and retail stores in Ho Chi Minh City.   to find solutions for building supply chains for high-quality agricultural products from Lam Dong province to the Ho Chi Minh City market .

Recently, the prices of many types of avocados in Lam Dong province have dropped sharply, causing difficulties for growers in selling their products.
