Da Huoai youth spearhead economic development.

With enthusiasm and creativity, the youth of Da Huoai commune (Lam Dong province) have boldly started businesses and established careers with highly effective economic models, making a positive contribution to the overall development of the locality.

After graduating from the Horticulture program at Bao Loc College of Technology and Economics , Pham Ngoc Long, residing in Hamlet 19, Da Huoai Commune, decided to return to his hometown to start his own business.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Long, residing in Hamlet 19, Da Huoai Commune, Lam Dong Province, started his business with 4 hectares of durian trees.

In the Da Huoai region, which boasts a strong agricultural sector, Mr. Long quickly recognized the potential of durian trees, a crop that was thriving in the area.

Applying the knowledge he had learned and with the support of his family, Mr. Long boldly invested in developing 4 hectares of durian. By applying high technology in production, his durian crop has grown steadily. To date, 2 hectares have entered the stable harvesting stage, yielding approximately 30 tons per hectare.

In addition, Mr. Long has developed two agricultural supply businesses, providing both fertilizers and pesticides for his family's crops, and offering services and technical support to local farmers on crop care and pest control.

By applying high technology in production, Mr. Pham Ngoc Long's durian trees are thriving and yielding high productivity.

Thanks to his dual production and business model, Mr. Long has generated a high income for his family while also providing stable employment for about 10 local workers, contributing to job creation, increased income, and improved living standards for many households.

Therefore, he decided to choose durian as his main business direction, and at the same time, opened an agricultural supplies business to serve the growing farming needs of the local people.

Mr. Long developed two agricultural supply businesses in the local area.

Like Long, many young people in Da Huoai have made efforts in economic development and the transformation of crop and livestock structures.

Many models have yielded high economic efficiency, such as: the durian farming model of Mr. Ngo Huu Phuoc in Hamlet 9, Mr. Tran Quoc Dat in Hamlet 2; and Mr. Nguyen Duc Canh in Hamlet 22 with 2 hectares of durian and an agricultural supplies store…

In supporting young people in starting and developing businesses, the Da Huoai Commune Youth Union has focused on promoting and encouraging its members and young people to participate in new startup models; and supporting young people in developing their family economies.

Young people participate in disseminating information, training in the transfer of scientific and technological advancements, restructuring crop and livestock production; support in accessing loan capital, applying science and technology, and building economic development linkage models…

Durian is a crop that many young people and residents of Da Huoai commune have chosen to develop their economy.

During the period 2022-2025, the Youth Union of the commune coordinated the organization of job counseling and overseas labor export activities for more than 1,000 union members and young people; and organized 18 vocational training classes attracting 150 young people to participate.

To effectively implement the movement "Youth of Da Huoai commune join hands to build new rural areas" and develop the local economy and society, the entire commune organized more than 80 training courses on transferring science and technology to improve knowledge and techniques in livestock farming and crop cultivation for union members, young people and people in the area.

The Da Huoai Commune Youth Union actively accompanies and supports young people, especially ethnic minority youth, in starting and developing businesses.

At the same time, local youth also have access to loan sources for economic development such as: the Youth Entrepreneurship Support Fund, the Vocational and Employment Fund, and credit loans through the Social Policy Bank…

The commune's Youth Union maintains 3 youth economic development clubs with over 50 members participating; actively supporting livelihood models for ethnic and religious youth to develop economically.

Young people in Da Huoai commune receive support in terms of capital, vocational training, dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge, training, and encouragement to start and develop their own businesses.

Ms. Tran Thi Van, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Huoai commune and Secretary of the Youth Union of Da Huoai commune, said that in recent years, the youth entrepreneurship movement in the commune has seen many positive changes. Many young people have boldly applied science and technology to production, built effective economic models, and proactively connected with the market, especially in the field of high-tech agriculture. To date, the entire commune no longer has any poor or near-poor households among its youth.

In supporting young people in economic development, the Youth Union of the commune will continue to assist them in accessing preferential loans, transferring scientific and technical knowledge, opening skills training classes, and developing more youth economic models.
