According to The Athletic , Real Betis have reached an agreement to sign Antony on a long-term contract from Manchester United for €25 million, with a clause allowing MU to receive 50% of any future transfer fee if the La Liga club sells the Brazilian player.
Furthermore, Man Utd will not have to compensate Antony for his wages. The former Ajax star wants to complete his transfer to Betis as quickly as possible.
Antony had been contacted by many clubs in Europe. However, the Brazilian international refused their offers, choosing to wait for Real Betis. After a period of patient waiting, the former Ajax star fulfilled his wish to return to Spain.
In the second half of last season's La Liga, Antony shone with 9 goals and 5 assists for Betis. The 25-year-old helped the club overcome its crisis and secure a place in European competition.
Having arrived at MU for €85 million, Antony was expected to shine but only scored 12 goals in 96 appearances at Old Trafford. He quickly became surplus to requirements.
