According to the indictment of the Provincial People's Procuracy, despite being married, Hoang Van Phi had a romantic relationship with the victim, Ms. HTHT, born in 1979, residing in Hoa Thanh village, Tan Hop commune, Huong Hoa district.
At approximately 1:15 PM on October 21, 2024, after returning from a drinking session, Phi called Ms. T. and learned that she was out drinking with clients. Therefore, Phi drove his motorbike to a restaurant in Khe Sanh town but only found Ms. T.'s motorbike, not Ms. T.
After that, Phi continued his search at another restaurant, then went to the IDOL karaoke bar on Le Loi Street, Block 2, Khe Sanh town.

When Phi entered the karaoke room, he saw Ms. T. and Mr. NQS, born in 1970, both residing in Khe Sanh town, sitting and singing in an inappropriate posture. Therefore, Phi asked Ms. T. to leave the establishment, and Phi took Ms. T.'s handbag and jacket and left first.
After leaving the karaoke bar and realizing that Ms. T. hadn't followed him home, Phi became upset and angry. At this point, Phi borrowed a knife from a restaurant employee along the road, initially intending to threaten Ms. T. into going home with him.
When Phi returned to the karaoke room, he found only Ms. T., while Mr. S. was in the restroom. At that moment, Phi pointed a knife at Ms. T. and demanded that she go home with him, but Ms. T. refused, and a struggle ensued between them.
The struggle enraged Phi, who stabbed Ms. T. multiple times with a knife, causing her to collapse to the floor. At this moment, Mr. S. came out of the bathroom and rushed to hit Phi, but Phi dodged the blow and stabbed Mr. S. in the stomach, causing him to fall to the floor.
After committing the crime, Phi used the knife to cut his own throat in an attempt to commit suicide, but failed. A few minutes later, the three victims were taken to the hospital, but due to the severity of their injuries, Mr. S. and Ms. T. died.

At the trial, the defendant Hoang Van Phi bowed his head, pleaded guilty, and expressed remorse for his actions.
Based on legal regulations, the Trial Council sentenced defendant Hoang Van Phi to death. At the same time, Phi was ordered to compensate the victims' families a total of nearly 1.3 billion VND, including 615 million VND to Ms. T.'s family and 684 million VND to Mr. S.'s family.
The verdict demonstrates the strictness of the law, appropriately punishing those who dare to disregard the law and infringe upon the lives and health of others. At the same time, it serves as a warning to those who are involved in extramarital affairs that lead to conflicts and negative consequences.
